It’s happening! ✨🌱
A plumeria, which is currently indoors thanks to our cold nights, has a couple flowers beginning to open on this inflow. The curved petals are a creamy white on the outside with a coral pink stripe on their edge. The inside will be closer to cream and yellow.

You guys. Bedtime in my youngest’s room with @inkhand.bsky.social. The cat, Raven, loves the kid schedule and always attends bedtime reading so she can get tummy rubs from Inkhand. Tonight she decided she was so relaxed she was actually liquid? 😆
A man sits on a stool next to a bed in a kid’s room, criss cross apple sauce, with a cat that HAD been lounging, tummy out, on his lap. As he’s pet, she’s slowly sliding to dangle off his lap, head first, front legs splayed. Her back end is still firmly anchored under his arm as she gets tummy pets. It’s hilarious.

I did yes! Too fun. I love feeding them, it’s always a blast.
A giraffe peers at me through some wooden timbers where it stands at a large branch rigged as a feeding station. A giraffe’s head over the wooden fence to see if my kiddo (whose face is hidden by a sun hat) has more food.

Laying on my foot and knee. lol. Kinda awkward but it’s warm so… sure. lol.
A photo of a woman’s legs, one bent to the bed she’s sitting on, the other knee up in the air. A pastel calico cat with green eyes peeks out from behind her wide pant leg, where the cat is resting on her foot and knee. How many 14 oz cans of puree do you think I got out of all these tomatoes? I want guesses. 😁
Four large piles of tomatoes arranged on and around a kitchen stove. It is roughly 150-200 tomatoes of varying sizes.

Through everything I picked! The puree smells amazing.
Tomatoes being cored and cut in half on a cutting board. The seeds are scooped out with a spoon- these are Romas, so there aren’t many. The cleaned tomatoes in a big stock pot waiting to be softened. Tomato puree in a bowl with a stainless steel food mill full of skins and a few stray seeds perched on top. The stock pot full of tomato puree reducing!

Plumeria’s going to bloom! How about that. 🌱
A plumeria, roughly 5’ tall with only a single trunk/branch thanks to some enterprising mule deer, has an inflow emerging in its cluster of leaves. And inflow will become a bundle of flowers!

Bahahaha. This is gonna take a min to weigh.
Counters and a flat top stove covered in tomatoes harvested today, mostly Roma, but quite a few Sasha’s Alati, and a bowl full of blueberry cream cherry tomatoes. Three summer squash, four cucumbers, and a few large zucchini sit next to a meal’s worth of green beans.

Huh! Odd little rainbows! ☺️
A photo of a storm off to the east of a wide open area dotted with trees and houses. Below the storm are two short, wide rainbows that cut off just above the ground, one fainter than the other.

New computer is here and set up, got the iPad Pro working as a tablet for the main computer! Super cool. Just need them to release my app of choice, Procreate, for the desktop now… trying CSP right now and it’s ok but my brain grumbles.

Just finished making salsa, 90% garden picked ingredients. It’s heavenly! Glad I cut the peppers in half on this recipe though. lol.
A large Pyrex bowl full of homemade salsa with roma tomatoes, red onion, garlic, ancho chiles, hatch chiles, bell pepper, and seasonings. In the background is more fresh produce waiting to be processed, mostly zucchini and cucumbers.

Another beauty from the back garden. Don’t have an ID on this rose, but I love it.
A deep pink rose, with a reasonable number of petals and very even color. It’s hard to capture on camera! It’s in a glass vase being held in my hand.

It’s too smoky out for me to keep up with weeds or deadheading, and we need new mulch, but there’s a few pretty spots here and there in the front garden. At least the hummingbirds enjoy it!
A sedum about to bloom in the foreground, with a delicately leaved and pale pink penstemon. Looming like crazy behind it. Behind those is some Karl forester grass just starting to bloom. Unfortunately there are also about ten million stray penstemon volunteers and weeds, and a drip tube line running through the middle.Iris leaves in the foreground, native wine cup blooming dark pink along the ground under a pale silvery blue native rabbit brush. Next to it are a few stalks of native firecracker penstemon blooming, small and bright scarlet. Smoke from the Aspen Acres fire cleared up enough for me to venture outside. Veggie garden is doing great. Carrots and beans are coming up. Cucumber is still tiny. Lots of squash and winter pumpkins. Tomatoes are huge, and both they and the peppers are blooming. We’ve had about 10 strawberries. 🌱

Guys, I love this rose so much. “Tamora” by David Austin. Never disappoints. Looking forward to my other roses catching up in age.
A beautiful peach colored rose with many simple petals, which tend towards orange yellow in the middle, and a reddish coral pink to the outside. The leaves are blurry in the background and a medium green. This rose has a beautiful fruity scent.

Some of my alternative penstemon are blooming! I’ll have to dig out the precise name of this one, can’t remember off the top of my head.
A native penstemon in pale pink. Flowers have 5 petals and are paler. The buds are darker pink, and the delicate foliage has almost needle like leaves in a medium green.

Veggie looking great. Tomatoes are blooming, strawberries have some green fruit, beans, lettuce, spinach, arugula, multiple squash and cucumbers are up. Got a few carrots trying, going to give those some more water. Shallots, late garlic (it was use it or lose it) and potatoes doing well so far!🌱

Garden is very dry in spite of the drip system, we had quite a heat wave this week but I think what really did it was the constant wind- roses and columbines are dry on their stems! 🌱 #bloomScrolling #FlowerReport
An unpruned baby rose bush, Cinco De Mayo, has one opened cool red flower with very simple double petals and a yellow center. A rather crispy looking Tamora rose by David Austin. It’s peach with some yellow to the center of its ruffle many pestles form. Leaves are a glossy medium green.
