Inspiration for writing is a fickle little thing. If it's not harnessed it won't blossom but if it's too exposed it can wilter away from the attention. #writing

Almost hit my monthly word count for my book. Only 274 words left. That should be doable in 3 days. Right???

Character descriptions are such a balance act. Either I take way too much space to describe someone or the description feels like a haphazard 2D sketch. Striking the sweet spot feels so good though.

What is your favorite type of scene to write? Mine is definitely a dynamic action scene. I love playing with movement relative to other characters and some good old action-reaction.

Planning chapters is always interesting. Usually the chapter just ends up completely different from the outline I prepared. The story just does what it wants.

Even days where your story does not grow in word count it can grow in spirit. Always remember that.

When choosing names for characters or locations I turn more and more into an obsessed goblin. Why can't names be easy?

Do you guys have that one thing you always do when writing? Like listening to a specific playlist or lighting that one special scented candle?

Train rides and storytelling are very much alike: you never know if you've stuck your fingers into a pile of shit or a cauldron of gold 🤷

Ready to fire up the word forge people? What are some of your favorite self-written metaphors/similes? I've always liked this one and I don't really know why, it just makes me feel something. James looked across his fields, the grain waving limply in the wind like an old friend about to leave.

Car rides are weird. Either my mind completely goes blank for the duration or it floods with a surge of new ideas. No in-between.

I hate when thinking about the smallest plot hook spirals into a massive new story arc. No, wait, I might actually love it. Anyhow, back to work.

Creating diseases and sicknesses for fictional worlds is fun. No boundaries, and the possibility of the weirdest symptoms and effects.

I have been wondering recently if such a thing as a "New Year's I'd Movie" even exists. Like we have a million Christmas movies, but I can't recall one about New Year's. What's up with that?

So I have been wondering: What is most important in a story? (Any medium) Is it Character, setting or Plot? Only wrong answers!
