The perfect gift for child artists! And isn't every child an artist at heart?

Did you know that I also do pet portraits? A recent painting for a satisfied customer. Little Tully is so sweet. Such a joy to paint. So if you need a pet portrait, drop me a line! 🙂

Hello, Summer! Painting outside a lot this summer. Good for the soul. 🙂

Another Summer project -- I made this! It looks so pretty when a summer breeze blows by.

Another Summer project. This one will take all Summer because I need to take a lot of back breaks. But so much fun!

Everybody should have a Whatchamacallit for their back deck.

Getting ready to do a writing workshop for a group of 9-12 yr olds this morning. Excited, but as per usual, also nervous. Presentations & workshops are few & far between these days, so I'm a bit out of practice. Hope it all comes back!

I've been busy... hoo boy I'm tired. This was our old boring bench that I have transformed into a colourful sitting experience! I do plan on painting flowers, but I need to take a break from detailed flower work for a bit, to give my eyes a rest. Stay tuned for more summer projects!

Thank you! I'm very comfortable colouring in Photoshop, but I have the dream of creating a story which is created completely in traditional art. I love the story I've created with this guy. Hope, hope, hope! :)

Character sketch for a story. The texture is odd b/c I was working on bond paper before moving to watercolour paper. I'm also finishing up another story which involves working digitally in Photoshop. Do other artists do this? Toggle between trad illustration & digital work? #kidlit #kidlitart #gnome

A happy little corner. You can buy metal art with cute words at a variety of online garden shops, but it's more fun to make it yourself. 🙂 #OutdoorArt #FolkArt #Art #GardenArt

Some less detail-oriented chair work for fun. I've had this chair for many years (another freebie!) & I decided it needed a lift. I love daisies. In the words of Kathleen Kennedy from You've Got Mail: "I love daisies. They're so friendly. Don't you think daisies are the friendliest flower?"

Thank you! I had to look up canal art -- I'm not familiar with that description. And now I love canal art! Thanks for the compliment; I love all things British.

First chair done! The details take longer than I had expected, plus it sure does a number on my back. And I decided to repaint another small outdoor chair. Stay tuned.... #FolkArt #TolePainting #Chair #Colour #Crafts

Very charming picture book about a child's love of sticks, but so much more. The love between a mother & child, & how a child grows over time. Sweet, clever, funny. I love the limited palette & the delicious textures in the art. Written & illustrated by E.B. Goodale. #kidlit #kidlitart
