So much of recent years has been discovering what I actually like or want, rather than what I "should" like and do. This has included music. There's so much that brings me joy and some much I've let go because the duty to it was imaginary. It's OK to like what you like.

Stumbled on the gorgeous Butterfly Lovers violin concerto this morning www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlpT... more moving to find that one of the composers Chen Gang passed away recently. To 'western alternative music enjoyer' ears this may sound cheesy, but listen closely and there is sweet blossom bliss

33 years ago today, the Stranger stepped onto the dock of Myst Island for the first time. We can still hear the water splashing against the pilings.

The dock of Myst Island from the original version of the game. A wooden dock ends at a spiral staircase that leads up to giant gears on a hillside. A ship is sunk in the water on the right, and parts of buildings are visible on the left.

Heath did such wonderful work on this album, should have been a massive electro industrial rock hit: distaudio.bandcamp.com/album/milieu...

No matter how many lyrics I write, it won't stop some people doing harmful, cruel terrifying things. You'd be right to think that's a silly thing to say out loud, but it's still so deeply baked into me it hurts.

Had a great time seeing Simona Castricum this evening. A much needed bit of joy after weeks of struggle. Here's me before the gig

I'm lucky enough to get tix to see Simona Castricum live at Triple R tonight! Can't wait! She's just dropped her new album and I love it. The lyrics really speak to me, and rusty grooves open up to big skies: simonacastricum.bandcamp.com/album/villai... ...Righteous fury and glorious euphoria💫

I haven't heard this in 20+ years. Was too busy being deep into NIN et. al. to fully dig it. Heard this today and the lyrics hit me like a bullet train: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JkI...

It's been a real struggle lately... but I'm not going to let that beat me... I can move and it lifts me a little. I'm learning there are people in this world that don't want me to move at all... so go get fucked!

Anyone who looks down at people for enjoying metal or any other heavy genre, is being nasty, mean and cold. I listen to give vent to big emotions that are a sane reaction to all cruel BS in this world.
