I mean, it's all a matter of perspective...

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Just 9 Games? With my 5-decade spanning back catalogue? Ended up going for those that had personal significance, with the most recent three being those that I've sunk a disgusting amount of hours into.

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

The sound design on this game is absolutely disgusting*. Also, this chunky lad was a right hassle until I figured out how to get rid. * Really chuffing good.

September. Including, but not limited to... • New specs - giving life in high def • Hanging out with the nephews • Gaming - paper and digital • Photography on long walks • Video game gigs • Getting in the ring for the first time

Did I go see a live performance of the GoldenEye N64 soundtrack on Saturday night? Yes, I did. And it was every bit as awesome as I hoped it would be. Go check out Cor64music on their socials. The duo are currently working to bring Ocarina of Time to the stage.

Just saw a guy come on the New York subway wearing this on a t-shirt... Exchanged glances with the lass opposite who then pulled the Barbie meme face.

Getting weird vibes from today's co-working office buddy.

If you're on my team, just know that I won't leave you hanging...

This wolf was fairly singular this year...

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 09/04/2026

There are two wolves inside me... My current go-to comfort games couldn't be more diametrically opposed. Also, congrats to @futurlab.co.uk on the launch of the @powerwashsimulator.co.uk Adventure Time pack.

Painting scenery for Kill Team. Just don't call them rocks.

000

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Wholesome Friday night at the movies. First time seeing The Omen on the big screen. The sheet glass scene traumatised 10 year-old me, and the SFX still hold up... [squints] 50 years later.

The most British of headlines...

000

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 31/01/2026

Managed to plow through this Middle-Earth scenery box that's been sat collecting dust on my shelf since I picked it up from Warhammer World back in 2024. What else are you going to do when it's -17° outside?

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 17/01/2026

Mad (metal) lads. I don't hate how this project turned out. Now to get these on the table for some shooty-shooty action.

100

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

This magnifying glass lamp is probably the best $50 I've spent. My old man eyes certainly agree.

100

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 09/01/2026

The one thing that I've learnt ahead of this new Necron project is not to glue everything together before you paint the fecker.

120

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 08/01/2026

First time playing Guillotine... and gutted that it appears to be long out of print. Also, Piss Boy is clearly the superhero we need.

000

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

Bumped into a distant relative whilst in Florida. The resemblance is uncanny. Wanted to see Epic Universe and meet my fave monsters during its opening year, so slipped in on the last day of 2025. Will see in 2026 riding rollercoasters, which might be a bit on the nose. See you on the flip side!

000

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 23/12/2025

Mother Christmas said that I could have my present early because I've been such a good boy... OFC I kicked off with the GOAT of console shooters. It's like Christmas... 1997!

A very restrained (and accidentally Red-themed) Montréal comic con haul this weekend. Also, inflatable G-dog and King Ghidorah say hi.

030

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

One weekend, two ball games and a fancy concert hall gig. The @torontobluejays.bsky.social smashed the Yankees (although it got a little squeaky during the 7th in Game 2), and Queens of the Stone Age put on an enthralling, stripped down, intimate show. Here's to last minute weekend escapes!

DbD x TWD? Completed it mate!* * apart from the one cheevo on the new Fallen Refuge map.

000

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 24/07/2025

Happy to report that this actually doesn't taste like bum.

110

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 14/07/2025

Ashes to ashes, and your mum says hi... It's been a memorable DbD season, but clearly I need to be playing more Killer during this next one.

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 27/06/2025

Print isn't dead! Pleased to see the magazine section in WHSmith is still providing the goods. I thought the whole range of mags dedicated to Harry Styles that I saw a couple of years ago couldn't be beat, but here we are...

3x @deadgoodmedia.bsky.social team members are in Brighton for the super-secret pre-Develop, Develop conference. If you see us, special password or handshake only.

Had to think for a second who this was... then remembered it was Leonard Nimoy. In a previous agency role, I was helping manage press appointments during E3. Zoe Saldana also rucked up as well. This was always a very surreal industry to work in.

000

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 09/06/2025

Absolutely. I'm also contractually obliged to buy anything R-Type as well.

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 08/06/2025

Kudos to JJB's impeccable fashion sense during the Hell is Us segment on the @futuregamesshow.bsky.social Summer Showcase. And shout-out to eagle-eyed @cohhcarnage.bsky.social for spotting the limited run @deadgoodmedia.bsky.social sweater.

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 06/06/2025

I've still got it, even after a 5 year break...

100

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 03/06/2025

Baffled but also happy to see that Battlefront II is having a bit of a resurgence after a wave of content creator streams. Been playing it for the first time in 5+ years, and it's still leagues ahead of the competition. Visually stunning, even though it's technically "last gen."

100

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 29/05/2025

Okay, now we're moving on...

000

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 28/05/2025

That's the campaign for DOOM: The Dark Ages wrapped up. Felt like a return to form after Eternal's not very fun platforming. Now back to Expedition 33!

100

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

Even though he'd been ill for a while, it was still a sad shock to read of Peter David's passing. He was one of the main inspirations for me wanting to write comics myself at some point. Off the top of my head, these are the works for his that had the biggest influence.

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 17/05/2025

I was supposed to be in the UK this weekend, but injured my back... so with housemate @irregulardave.bsky.social unexpectedly in Montréal, I'm showing him one of my favourite neighbourhood hotspots instead!

040

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 15/05/2025

The big revelation out of DOOM: The Dark Ages is that the Imps eventually suffer from pattern hair loss.

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 10/05/2025

It's just as well that getting to and from Bernie Beigne involved a walk and a bike ride. Absolutely worth it, and no surprise why there's a queue for these bangers. Spoilt for choice, but went splitsies on a pair of classics this go round: Boston creme and strawberry.

030

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 10/05/2025

Technically, mum* said that playing Expedition 33 can count as my French homework. * my language tutor.

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 04/05/2025

Also grabbed a couple of age appropriate comics for the nephews, got a nice discount on the first Criminal deluxe hardcover collection, and the gorgeous Art of Marvel Snap (highly recommended).

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 04/05/2025

Yesterday's Free Comic Book Day was bittersweet, considering it could be the last one. My fave Montréal store, Comic Hunter, was rammed. Its promo of 3x FCBD books and 7x free books from the dollar bins certainly helped.

130

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 01/05/2025

This week's new Snap Packs economy has resulted in 5 new cards that I'm eager to try out. Probably not in the same deck though, as that would be pure chaos, even for Marvel Snap.

031

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 23/04/2025

Going back to one of my favourite games of all time... Reminiscing about the time I had to convince my publisher that it was worth putting the DLC expansion on the cover of the mag I was editing.

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

After four years, time to move on out of my first proper home in Montréal. Lots of memories, but looking forward to the next adventure. Also, I never want to see a packing box again.

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 24/02/2025

This week's photo project... Quick sprayed a black cardboard background, and went for a three light set up: one key light in front of the model (thanks, Boba Fett), with two speed lights either side using coloured gels (orange and blue).

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 21/02/2025

Kirby Krackle! ... Paying homage to the peerless Jack Kirby with some kinetic Kirby Krackle energy in the latest tattoo project with pal, Angus. Also, turns out the side of your wrist is really bitey!

000

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 19/02/2025

Happy 48th birthday to @2000ad.bsky.social! My first issue as a reader was Prog 212 in 1981 (because it had a Buck Rogers sticker album as a free gift). Then, a mere 23 years later, I made my writing debut in Prog 1409 with the 'Alice's Adventures in Whitechapel' short story.

010

Stu Taylor @stoonami.bsky.social · 17/02/2025

Behind the scenes of the set-up, and yeah, all that ambient light was on when taking the shots. With some fiddling, you can pull this off on a bright, sunny day. Most of my kit is back in the UK, so waving a single stand with a flash on the end in one hand wasn't ideal.
