I mean, I have hobbies, but I mostly just post rambling diatribes about politics to get them out of my head. If that's your thing, I'm sorry.

Not that it makes any difference, in reality.

And you can never know, is this a bot, a liar, or somebody who legitimately believes it because bots and liars told them it and it lines up with what they would like to be true.

I have pretty consistently heard them defending the guys. Maybe there's some virtue signalling from the Ben Shapiro types that I am missing, though. I don't pay them that much attention.

If conservatives really believed that the woman in the Cornel gang rape were consenting, they would be calling the men disgusting degenerates. Their defense is a confession.

Drug dealers who go to prison are mostly black. To get a proper comparison, you need to compare their sentences to those of black rapists. Without that, you don't know how much is misogyny and how much is hidden racism.

The most powerful man in the world? I thought Xi went home?

But all of those things were always lies, they never believed any of them, it's just that they allow them to argue against obviously good ideas without directly addressing them. They don't want to say "Poor children should starve" so they invent some cold, bloodless technicality to harp on instead.

The problem is just conservatives. Chistians, Muslims, Atheists, all fine people. Conservative Christians are horrible, conservative Muslims are evil, conservative Atheists are murderous... It doesn't matter what identity group, if you eliminate the conservatives from it, the rest are fine.

Being involved in Gamergate was literally just choosing to be wrong just because it entitled you to be a misogynistic hatemonger, and that was more important to some people than being correct or decent. It was 100% evil pieces of shit all the way down.

What is the point of talking to known liars? Like, the whole movement took place in public forums. We can see what data was there, what people chose to ignore and pay attention to. We know that the movement was just people choosing to be hateful misogynists even though the facts were all public.

...social Democrat. I'm not saying that's amazing of anything, but Bill Gates has fucked up everything he's touched for decades on end and has never learned or changed in any way as a consequence. So, like, George Soros might not be good, but compared to others of his class, he's a bit better.

I have a little bit of appreciation for Soros personally, simply because he is the only billionaire I have actually seen learn anything from the consequences of his actions. Like, Soros went into Russia in the 90s as a devoted neoliberal, and saw the consequences of that, and came out of it a...

Also, I'm pretty sure that the people complaining about this would oppose such a law vociferously, so I don't even understand what the criticism could possibly be here.

Stoobz @stoobz.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
Also, last I checked, there were already laws against gang raping 17 year olds, so I'm puzzled as to what further action is required? A law punishing police for failing to properly investigate rape allegations would be good, but I'm kind of dubious that it is needed in this specific case.

People keep talking as though the Republican party has manifestly changed since Trump, and maybe it has a little, but I think we should all remember that back in the 1990s, the majority of Republicans already believed that demons were a serious problem that the government should be concerned with.

A medieval punishment would be if they grabbed men accused of rape and forced it onto them. This is, at most, a medieval deterrent.

While this is technically true, in reality even apparently bloodless genocides usually turn up some hidden bodies down the road.

I dunno, I would say that all executions are state murders , but not all state murders are executions.

Stoobz @stoobz.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
...are dead, that's an unsuccessful genocide. I would be genocidal in that circumstance. But if I'm minding my business and the entire population of a country just decided to hunt and murder me, and I killed them all one by one in self defense, I wouldn't describe that as a genocide.

Stoobz @stoobz.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
Setting aside the America question, this is obviously silly. The percentage killed obviously tells you nothing without knowing the context. Like, if I go into a country, set up camps, begin systemically executing the people there, and then my enemy invades and stops me after 1% of the population...

I think there is a critical difference between state murder and state murder as public spectacle. This is barbaric on a whole other level.

I don't think zebra are domesticated at all. Modern cattle have been modified to an incredible degree, the closest wild relative is the Indian Bison, and the chain between the two is extinct. There are no wild cattle, they are a human invention.

I mean, I'm going by a single google search based on the first answer that came to me, but my theory is that it might be because every place where there are zebras, there are also horses, and so why domesticate a second animal that does the same thing?
000
Stoobz @stoobz.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Like, a horse knows which direction danger belongs in, and everything about it is built to keep it there.
000
Stoobz @stoobz.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Yes, but any modern horse is at the end of a millennia long lineage, and humans have been fucking with that the whole way, often with the specific intent of making horses more useful for riding into fights. I mean, a horse can certainly hurt you, but not for nothing its best attack goes backwards.

He does bring up warbears, which lends credence to the 'overestimating' theory.
000
Stoobz @stoobz.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
I dunno, to me it felt like he was asking why zebras weren't used in the way horses were. In theory, they seem like pretty similar animals, and horses were an incredible advantage in a battle. But maybe I'm over-estimating the guy, I only really know him through Big Joel videos.

I feel like if anyone had figured out a way to weaponize hippos, they would rule the world today. The British empire would never have had a chance, because they would have landed in Africa and been immediately crushed by the invincible hippo corp.

Horses are also pretty peaceful by nature, we bred aggression into them so we could ride them into battle.

Constitutions are paper shields. Their protection is entirely contingent on the other party respecting it too much to just cut right through it. The Democrats play at respecting it, as an excuse to be ineffective. The Republicans don't even do that, they are fine with blatant hypocrisy.

All systems in liberalism are based on dynamic equilibriums, where balance is maintained by everybody constantly pursuing their own rational self interest. As soon as you start treating the system like an end rather than an obstacle, you free your opponent to ignore it completely.
100
Stoobz @stoobz.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
I find it strange that people didn't realize that. The reason that checks and balances functioned is that it was to everybody's advantage to observe them. When one side holds no real positions and stands for nothing, that frees the other side to be as crazy and monstrous as they want.

Democrats really still think there are votes to be gained by moving right... I don't know which is sadder, them or the primary voters who pick them.

The actual establishment of the state of Israel comes later, and the violence that occurs in response to that is the continuation of an ongoing resistance to what was already a campaign of genocide backed by the force of the British empire.

And not accidentally. Intentionally. They moved into the area and intentionally provoked Muslims with acts of terrorist violence, then hid behind the indigenous Jews and called their victims antisemitic. That's where all of the violence begins.

Stoobz @stoobz.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Unprovoked? You may want to look back a little further. Prior to Israel, Jews, Christians, and Muslims lived peacefully alongside one another. It was the arrival of westernized, white supremacist Jews who imposed a far right apartheid regime with the support of outside powers that started the death.

When you look at all of the worst people on Earth, and where their money is, it becomes clear that even if it somehow became useful, it would still be a moral imperative that AI be made to fail. If an AI service is free, waste it. If it costs anything, eschew it. This must fail.
