Tis why I wanted to keep it simple style wise. But I never listen to my own advice. X'D

This black and white beauty is on her way home! #stonemonkeh ##customcommission #plushies

Partial left facing side of plush showing the off center zigzag of black and white up her face.

Partial side view of right side of plush. Her black and white layered hair scoops down over her eye. Nice leg stripes.

Back of plush showing off those big old ears and varied layers of black and white fur.

Front view of black and white plush. Her right eye is just peaking out from under her bangs. Her nose ring is a big hard to see with black on black.

Agreed. If there is no challenge. There is no strive for growth. I'm glad I've grown more comfortable with trying new things. And I love seeing yours too! They're so cute! And some of your color patterns are gorgeous!

Ginger Monkey @stonemonkeh.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I was really insecure at trying something new back then. I'd never drawn a monkey before in my life, nor was I comfortable with different hairstyles. So it was a big bounce out of the comfort zone. But I think it made for some interesting change as well as openness to it.

2023 vs 2026 redraw. The first time I drew Ginger on pc without knowing how to even draw monkeys, to now after three years of study. I'm quite happy with the results. #monkeyOC #GingerMonkey #stonemonkeh #redraw

2026 has shown 3 years of progress. Line weight, color depth, and overall simian anatomy have come around to really highlight the changes in this character. I honestly love this lil brat.

2023. This was the first time I drew Ginger on my PC before I even knew how to draw monkeys. This first version of him had me fighting with the idea of spikey hairstyles verses my old usual, and then how to make a simian face. Thus he has an awkward inbetween human and something else. Line weight also was missing entirely and I was uncomfortable with solid color lines.

Ginger Monkey @stonemonkeh.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Marshal Liu. A redraw from 2024 (image number 4) for comparison. #MonkeyOC #stonemonkeh

I wanted a more dynamic pose for the redraw, whilst still showing off his use of a glaive.

Close up for clarity. Over the past 2 years, Ive grown more confident in drawing clothing as well as use of color. Back in 24, I had a habit of blending all of my colors together and avoiding hard lines, but it left a lot of my images muddled.

Just another close up for facial definition. I need to draw another pose at some point to better accentuate the fluff of his mane. I may go back and blend in his fur a bit. If only to give it some softness.

This was the first colored render I did of Liu back in 2024. It was a time where I struggled with balancing definition with blending. It left clothes rather muddled.

A beastly dossier~ Finalized the shadowbeast species sheet. Field journal/scientific entry style. Warning for blood/gore. Legible ver of writing in Alt txt.

Shadowbeasts
-
Shadowbeasts are ambush predators that actively prey upon mortals, demons, and spirits alike. The celestial host views them as a plague considering they break the wheel of reincarnation by often devouring the souls of their victims.

Native to the Deep Dark, they carve out territories within the subterranean caverns. They only come to the surface to hunt and reproduce. The presence of many is called a Blight. But they tend to prefer solitary lifestyles. Fiercely territorial.

LiuEr Mihou, the Six Eared Macaque is the most well known beast in written record. Though considered tame via his fragile pact with the Great Sage, he is still considered one if the most dangerous. He was separated from his kind after the fall of the Brotherhood, bound by the artifact upon his tail. It alienates him from joining a Blight, blocking out the hive mind when beasts gather.

Their forms vsry wildly. Amalgamous and changing to hide amongst their preferred prey, until they reach maturity and settle on a single species. They vary from various animals, to demons or other creatures. But all of them can be recognized by their dark fur, emaciated build, and bioluminescent features.

Parasitic in nature, they lay their eggs in and around unfortunate hosts. Eggs hatch quickly, within days. The new spawn consume the host from inside out and erupt from the torso as sub adults.

Eggs are rubbery or flesh like in texture, pulsing with a strong heartbeat. Their glow stands out like a warning.

Its been interesting to figure out. I work better with physical shapes I can manipulate and adjust. So we will see where it goes

000

Ginger Monkey @stonemonkeh.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Drafting up a snoot. Some monkeys have longer snouts (like baboons), so I'm working on another model for them. #plushies #stonemonkeh

This is a draft head made of fleece for a longer snouted simian. It still needs a few tweaks, but I've figured out the overall concept for it. The nose itself is much more prominent in this design.
The pen marks are for directional placement of fur as well as any adjustments I need to make.

Side view of this longer shnozz.
The pointed cheek fur marks are specific to a client's character design, but it is a stepping stone in making much more elaborate facial fur and other features.

Shadow beast Macaque. Just sort of my interpretation of his kaiju/giant monster form, but turned into its own unique species. (Possible dnd creature idea). Shadowbeasts are ambush predators native to the deep dark. (Ramble in Alt Txt) #Legomonkiekid #lmkMacaque #LiuErMihou #SixEaredMacaque

Image Description: A dark cavern with luminescent blue mushrooms scattered along the walls. In the dark, a gleam of light shines from an unusual artifact. A glowing ring upon the long, twisting tail of a large, vaguely simian like beast. Its emaciated ribs shown by the bright glow within its chest. A glow that runs up through its body, fanned out through its six listening ears, and hissed through its breath with an almost radioactive hue.

The Shadowbeast concept turns LiuEr Mihou, Macaque, into something far more sinister. These dark beasts reside within the deep dark of the underground world, coming up to the surface to hunt. Amalgamous and shape changing, the beasts will take the form of creatures/demons/animals/etc that they encounter upon the surface world to better blend in and get close to their prey. Their chosen form becomes permanent upon maturity and allows them to wander about in daylight. However, they can transform into their true, monstrous forms at ease.
Most shadowbeasts, while vaguely resembling certain species all share a few specific traits; including but not limited to a large, emaciated, or disfigured body (extra limbs or appendages are not uncommon), black fur/skin color, and bioluminescent blood/insides.
Their hunting methods disrupted the reincarnation cycle, as they would also devour the souls of their victims, leaving nothing to return to the wheel. Thus much of their kind was actively hunted down by the heavens and forced to retreat deep into the earth.
The ring upon Macaque's tail is a celestial artifact (appearing as a gold band in his simian form). It conceals his true nature to prying eyes, and prevents his mind from being read.

Front view of this laid back looking monkey. He has a complex layered hairstyle that flops over his lazy eyes.

Side view of plush, giving a better view of his gages and earrings, as well as a septum piercing. He has a fluffy blue mullet to complete the look.

He has a simple tag necklace around his neck.

Back view of the plush gives a view of his fluffy, wild mullet and nice long tail.

I believe so. I'm still looking forward to its full release. The genre has been excellent

110

Ginger Monkey @stonemonkeh.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

You have to turn your lights off to avoid them. I screamed the first time I saw one in the grand reef zone. I'm waiting to play Subnautica2 till it updates a bit more.

Ginger Monkey @stonemonkeh.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Ooh, the stalkers are so neat! I think the crab squid was the one that freaked me out the most

110

Ginger Monkey @stonemonkeh.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

I love that it gives you a familiar, and yet totally alien environment to explore. And creatures that make you go, WTF is that!

Figuring out his shape was the challenging part. It was like trying to model a football sized jelly bean!

A rather unique full custom plush on his way home! This little bean is the Cuddlefish from the game Subnautica. #stonemonkeh #plushies #custom_commission #custom_plushies #subnautica

Side view of Cuddlefish plush held aloft. His tentacles are too long to fit in the picture. This full custom plush had to be modeled from scratch to get his shape. I call it a potato with legs.

Semi_sideview of Cuddlefish plush sitting upon desk.

Semi_frontview of Cuddlefish plush sitting upon desk. His tentacles are still too long to fit in frame.

Semi_backview of Cuddlefish plush held aloft. To preserve the fluffy/soft feel of the brush, we forgo airbrushing to blend colors, giving a strong contrast instead.

Ginger Monkey @stonemonkeh.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

@kit27x.bsky.social The bean is here!!! All those extra revisions worked out, he's very well designed. I was pleasantly surprised to find he's about the same size as the littles (just slightly bigger bodied). The extra goodies is a cute treat as well.

Ginger Monkey @stonemonkeh.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Another collaborative piece with my friend @unnoton.bsky.social to make this gorgeous bleeding heart tutulong. He makes the mask and designs the accessories whilst I pattern out and make the body. This unique fella has usable dagger scissors! #stonemonkeh #customcommissions #plushies

This gorgeous tutulong features a bleeding heart "wound" with dagger insert, handmade crown with floral accents, handprints eyes, and airbrushed details.
Tutulongs are a dragon/bunny creature usually featuring antler like horns, two sets of ears (this one only retains the bunny ears and has devil style horns) and 3 fox like tails.
This design is made by recycling the remains of a store bought one, as we have no means of casting/printing the facemask ourselves.

The dagger scissors are usable and can be removed from their sheath!

Better view of the 3 tails and some airbrushed details.
