Theoretically, to be pardoned, you have to accept the pardon. But as far as I know, the only Jan. 6er who refused to accept it was someone who didn't accept because she felt that she had been wrong and was guilty. Ironic, huh? The rest have taken the attitude that they didn't do anything wrong.

If you're pardoned - even if the legal standard is, "If you accept the pardon, it means you are admitting guilt," that has no impact, legally, going forward. If you then say, "I wasn't guilty, it was all BS!," on Fox News or wherever, that has no legal impact. You're pardoned, it's done.

As a retired lawyer who took an oath to support the Constitution when I was sworn in and who supports the rule of law-yeah, skip the tribunal & go straight to the capital phase. Maybe hire that guy who botched the execution in TN & tell him he can just keep trying on these guys until he succeeds.

I think the writer is pointing more to perceptions about why someone would do this-that it's "sexy" somehow (which seems emphatically wrong). I don't know if it's blaming men, or just generally blaming a culture where someone would conclude that this surgery would make them more desirable to men.

I'm sure there's some dementia going on. After all, Daddy had Alzheimer's. But I don't underestimate how psychopathic and stupid he has been his whole life. What's mostly different now is that there is no one to tell him no, and he is running with that. Just untethered from all prior restraints.
