Every game of Renown needs a place to start and that place is the Town Square of Gloria’s Landing. Starting the game with Town Square in play establishes what base rules the game will be played under as well as ensuring each player has a place for a follower to stay.

A player's maximum number of followers is equal to the number of established locations in town. The area surrounding Town Square has five available plots of land.

Occasionally in Renown: The Card Game, you need a little extra help to complete a dangerous quest. A location like Training Grounds is perfect for such a situation. Discard a card and you can give a follower a wild attribute for the turn, getting exactly what you need.

The game of Renown is plagued by catastrophes, which can hinder the town of Gloria’s Landing. With Earthquake, not only can no other quest be attempted until it has calmed, but followers can't use their powers too. Players may have to unite to subdue the catastrophe and allow the game to progress.

In Renown: The Card Game, our most popular Personality in playtesting is easily Waffles. Card draw is king, and the wizard brings it built in. He also draws ire once people pick up on his speed. However, when Waffles reaches his Prestige side, Wizard's Work helps prevent a bit of that heat.

Crossfire clearly won the gotta play it board game, so that is what we did. This game is as loud as I remember and the board moves like crazy as you try to dislodge the ball bearings. And the whole time all you can do is sing that badass song from the 80s-90s.
