Finished Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright. It's not as good as Investigations 2 or Appollo Justice imo, as it started off quite slow, but it got way better once the trials started. The 3d isn't bad, but I prefer the cleaner and more expressive pixel art. Overall not bad, but could be better

I stopped working on it not long after I started back in July due to the perspective and background taking such a long time to do.
I didn't feel like I had enough experience to finish such a big project, so I gave up and instead began working on other things.

I didn't continue this drawing until very recently when I felt like I had enough experience.
It still took a long time, but I'm finally satisfied.

I thought this would be more difficult to make, but I did a lot of planning ahead, and the process of painting felt very natural to me. Only thing I really struggled with was how to make it look like the POV was actually under water.
I'm sure there's still way more I could do to improve, but for now I'm very satisfied. I might however use different paint brushes for future paintings, as I mostly used the acrylic brush for this one, which made it look a bit gritty.

After my previous drawing, I stopped for a while as I didn't know what to draw, and I didn't really feel motivated anymore.

A couple months later I stumbled upon a game called Snoot Game, a visual novel about this Anon guy who just moved to a new dino-only school.
I ended up falling in love with the game and its story. After completing it, I was an emotional mess, but the game motivated me enough to start drawing again.

I ended up drawing my favorite scene from the game, as I felt like the art in the game didn't fully capture the detail in the narration.

In my drawing I tried making it as accurate as possible to the descriptions in the game, especially with the blood, having it running from the palms and plucked feathers, and stains covering Fang's knees and Anon's jacket.

The artwork wasn't supposed to take this long, but I got a little carried away with the details. I actually struggled to keep below the layer limit of 60 since I was drawing in UHD.

So this one was a good lesson as to what not to do. During this entire drawing I was trying out different things that I had little to no experience with, like drawing multiple unoriginal characters, a detailed background, a car, perspective, soft lighting, etc.
I thought making this would be much simpler, but my lack of proper routine and planning made this a pain that took me five months, most of the time spent procrastinating because I didn't want/know how to finish this.
The progress went smoothly in the beginning, but as the rendering started, it slowed down. The worst part however, was the line work. I for some reason decided halfway through that it would look best to remove the line work, but that would leave white lines everywhere since I had used the bucket tool to fill color within the lines.
Foolish me decided to fix this, which doubled the time I spent.

Even with the ugly process, I still think it looks great, and I recommend everyone to watch the movie :)
