New album! It's coming out in December in Japan and elsewhere, I guess...it's a compilation of various things. It's called Denki Amma, which means 'electric massage'...

Well, that was fun. I had a large polyp clipped off...I've feel a bit like someone stuck a Bamix up my butt and turned it on. And I may have to do it all again soon...my bowel was 'poorly prepped', which I take as a personal insult, so there are some nooks and crannies they still need to probe.

Going into hospital tomorrow to have a gastroscopy/colonoscopy combo, so I'm only allowed to have white food today. All I'm allowed to eat and drink is stuff like white bread and vanilla ice cream and lemonade...I'm actually feeling a little nostalgic for my childhood in the seventies.

I bought a new pepper grinder to grind white peppercorns, but when it arrived it was already full of black peppercorns. I topped up my other two pepper grinders with these unwanted black peppercorns but I still have a small surplus...so I am skewered on the horns of a dilemma...

I went for my yearly check up and apparently I'm bleeding internally, enough that I'm now quite anaemic. It feels like when someone gets shot in a movie, or stabbed in the belly, and they're bleeding out and they say 'I'm so cold'. That's how it feels...it's really unpleasant. So don't get stabbed.

Chris Langton made me a COVID-infested Daruma for the cover of an album I'll be releasing soon called 'Long COVID'. It's pretty spiffy!

I don't want to seem opportunist, but here's my re-versioning of Andy Prieboy's (from Wall of Voodoo) song Build a Better Garden, which some may feel relates to current events to some degree: soundcloud.com/stobiepole/b...

Today, March 10, is the 81st anniversary of the Tokyo Great Air Raid, in which up to 100,000 Japanese were killed by American bombing in just a couple of hours. It was the single most destructive air attack in human history. But those dark days are behind us, right? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombing...

I am *just* old enough to remember the fall of Saigon. I remember the helicopters leaving with people still hanging on to the ladders as the US military abandoned them, never to return. And I'm getting this strange feeling of deja vu...

So Switzerland's neutrality policy was too binding to condemn the Nazis, but now Switzerland is saying that the US and Israel are violating international law. That's pretty damning...

I think I just figured it out. Netanyahu and Trump are like George and Lennie from Of Mice and Men.

I think Penny Wong is right. Iran started the war. Khameini has been explicitly stating his intentions for forty something years, to drag the US into a direct conflict, to bring the mountain to Mohammed as it were, and drive them out of the Middle East, destroy Israel and free Palestinians.

I remember when I was a student, Gerald told me he'd changed one of the sentences I'd written because I had used the word 'that' twice. I said 'Why? Don't you like "that"' and he said: 'No, I like it very much. That's why I only let myself use it once in a sentence'. So reading this quote is funny.

I loved reggae and dub when I was a kid but it was hard to find any, growing up in Mt Gambier...I bought anything I could find with Sly and Robbie on it. This was a particular favourite, with Sly and Robbie in a double rhythm section, really going out there... www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHDs...

I think Herzog should be allowed into the country. I think he should be warmly welcomed. Aguirre, Wrath of God and Fitzcarraldo are fantastic films, and even Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans is pretty underrated.

Been watching a lot of Chinese DTV action movies, which seems like a particularly rich field right now. Chris Huo's 2025 The Sixth Robber is a fantastic Johnnie To-esque neo-noir (there's even an explicit reference to To's The Longest Nite)... letterboxd.com/film/the-six...
