Pride Besties SAL complete! Oh my, I had so much fun waiting each week to see what the next queer animal was going to be. It was my first time joining in a SAL and it HAD to be this pattern by @samanthatextiles.bsky.social and I had a blast doing it.

It has been washed and ironed and the nasty yellow stain on the bottom is gone. Always wash your hands before stitching. You’d think I’d know that by now.

This took 19 hours to stitch. Time well spent.

Wrote to my MP today asking him to do the right thing for trans people and support the disapproval of the EHRC’s dangerous Code of Practice.

A copy of a letter, dated 02 June 2026, that reads:

Dear Sir Chris Bryant MP,

I write to you today to ask for your support of EDM 240 tabled by Nadia Whittome MP, which calls on the Government to disapprove the EHRC’s proposed Code of Practice relating to gender inclusion. At the time of writing, I don’t see your name on the list of MPs that have signed to support the motion.

I am deeply concerned that the EHRC guidance, if implemented, would undermine the dignity, safety, and inclusion of trans people in everyday life.

The proposed CoP encourages exclusion from public spaces and services in ways that clearly go far beyond the Equality Act’s original intention, while also creating confusion and anxiety for employers, schools, service providers and the wider public. The proposed CoP tells organisations to make decisions based on ‘physique or physical appearance,’ which is utterly ridiculous and dangerous.

The proposed Code of Practice will put both cisgender and trans people at risk of violence and social ostracism. We must not have a Government that makes laws that puts any members of our society at risk of harm. We must not have a Government that normalises a social behaviour where people are challenged because they don’t look ‘woman enough’. Government allowed vigilante gender policing is a violation of people’s human rights, and that is inevitably what we will end up with if the proposed CoP becomes law.

I hope you will consider the very real impact these proposals could have on people’s wellbeing, mental health, and access to public life. I ask that you support EDM 240 and speak out in favour of a more inclusive and evidence based approach to equality guidance.

I would appreciate hearing your views on this matter and whether you intend to support the motion.

Today I wrote to the Health Secretary asking what the new Welsh Government's plans are for #trans healthcare in Wales. This is a copy of that letter. 1/2

I would first like to congratulate Plaid Cymru on its success at the recent Senedd election and on forming the current Welsh Government. I was pleased to see this outcome, as I believe it is a step in the right direction and a significant opportunity for Wales to enact laws and policies that prioritise what is best for people living in Wales, rather than serving the desires of Westminster.

The purpose of my writing today is to ask whether the Welsh Government intends to establish a dedicated NHS Wales pathway for under 18s who may require puberty blockers as part of wider gender related healthcare, and whether there are plans to further develop specialist gender identity services for adults, children and young people in Wales.'

Text that reads, 'The science is clear that trans identities are valid and real. Gender and biological sex are not synonymous with each other (although there is a clear connection between the two.) Someone’s biological sex does not determine their gender. Gender is an internal critique and innate sense of oneself, and nobody else has the right to invalidate another person’s gender. Children can be trans, and know they are trans at a young age, and many trans children experience gender dysphoria. When NHS England decided to stop providing puberty blockers for under 18s following the Cass Review, this resulted in there being no pathway for under 18s in Wales to receive puberty blockers. This was an egregious and cruel failure of the previous Welsh Government to adequately meet the needs of trans youth living in Wales.

Effective gender affirming care, including the appropriate use of puberty blockers, literally saves lives, and reduces the instances and severity of people living in misery.'

Text that reads, 'As healthcare is a devolved area, I believe the Welsh Government and NHS Wales should be bold and have the confidence to develop gender related healthcare pathways that are tailored to the needs of people living in Wales and guided by Welsh clinical expertise, rather than relying on commissioning inadequate care and services from NHS England.

I would encourage the Welsh Government to improve gender identity healthcare. This Welsh Government has the opportunity to develop healthcare services that are comprehensive, evidence led, and patient centred. Although NHS England’s remiss response to the Cass Review has been disappointing, the Cass Review does recommend a number of changes to gender related healthcare services that fit this bill. Some specific areas I would like to personally see the Welsh Government prioritise include:'
