Called in to see the Starling roost at Snape Maltings. About 5k arrived and did a few laps before straight to bed. Also in attendance were an adult Hobby and a juv Marsh Harrier. The show was won by a load of big Mullet in the river! #SuffolkBirding #Suffolk #Fish

Well, a couple of hours viewing the Snape reedbeds this morning was very pleasant. 200+ Black t Godwits, 10+ Bearded Tits, 11+ Cetti's Inc one seen well, Water Rail, Kingfisher, Avocets, 3 Little Egrets etc. No Black Stork.

This Mantis was scoffing the butterfly while I took this shot. When it finished, wings fluttering down, It turned and stared straight into the lens, as if to say you're next! I didnt even take the photo I just backed away, proper freaked out...😊

Finally another got funding to plant hedgerow trees. After 3 years he took the flail over them all creating a flat topped hedge, good for nothing. This behaviour must be rife nationally...

My first ever Ni Moth was my best last night but the Evergestis extimalis was also a good one, my 2nd of the month. This well marked Common Wainscot had me looking a bit closer, in life it seemed quite dark. #teammoth #Northumberland
