This 3-parter is incredible... the way it builds towards the moment when an already compromised X-Men, battling The Hellfire Club in Central Park, are then attacked by Nimrod, is just great work by Chris Claremont & JRJR. Then the entirety of #209 is just an awesome extended battle.

I think part of it is that those early X-Factor issues are just plain bad. I don't think Bob Layton was a very good writer anyway, and since Jim Shooter was breathing down his neck to make changes every 5 minutes, I don't even think he had a chance to produce his best work.

Apparently, we shouldn't think less of people who mispronounce words because it means they've read it, not heard it. But the number of comics podcasters who can't pronounce "archetype" is ridiculous. I was even listening to an old Gerry Conway interview where he repeatedly pronounced it "arch-type"!

I think, as ever, a big part of Byrne's motivation for bringing back Jim Hammond was righting a perceived "wrong", i.e. that the Vision was made from the body of the original Human Torch. I feel like he must have disliked Steve Englehart for some reason, so he decided to undo a lot of his work.

I never watched Alias, but I loved the economy of the script for M:I3. They don't bother to explain what the Rabbit's Foot is, it's just a Very Bad Thing. And when Ethan steals it from the lab, they don't show him getting it, we just cut straight to him leaping out a window. It's very underrated.
