Wealth does not evaporate. Countries are massively indebted because a very few people are hoarding vast sums of wealth. Built on unfair wages, disruption without regulation and complex debt structures which avoid taxation. If we do not address this, all else is commentary.

Let’s not ignore that the vast bulk of the cost of fuel in the UK is tax. And not only that, it’s tax on tax. VAT is charged on the whole cost of fuel in the UK, including VAT on the duty. Bring it down now to boost business. No one will drive more. We’ll simply be able to afford driving.

Watched #Anora again. First time around, knowing nothing about it, I watched it with my elder daughter. Who, after 20 minutes, asked if it was directed by a 14 yr old boy. And I wondered how the hell it won an Oscar. Which I still do. But it’s better and deeper (and sadder) for watching twice.

This season of #Reacher was so great… Until episode 7. When we had a long period of exposition to explain the convoluted plot. I don’t recall the book being so complex: and it certainly didn’t include AI. It’s a shame: you don’t need complexity for compelling drama.
