I’d also be interested. I’m thinking a lot about grant giving and management which I think has some similarities.

We’re doing our best and keen to work with others. @simoneverest.bsky.social could be something we work with you and your team and some more of the DCMS family on?

There was a great question about this on the day. Some great work by Matthew Skelton and Manuel Pais on Team Topologies was referenced. Perhaps a reference analogy will come in useful?

They gave 2 egs of where our team shapes became obstacles to delivering. In each case, we realised they more closely resembled doughnuts than the well-established Team Onion model created by @ewebber.bsky.social Eg1, supporters and collaborators spanning both roles + small core = doughnut shaped
screengrab of the slide we used to make the point that when supporters and collaborators span both roles and there's no core team, the team is doughnut shaped

Last week, at @sdingov.bsky.social my brilliant Sport England colleagues @casseroleburgers.bsky.social and @simonpang.bsky.social gave a talk called Beware of the Team Doughnut 🍩 It's about the importance of team shape and why – when we didn't get that right – it was detrimental to our delivery.
