Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 01/02/2025I said all week Bournemouth are good, and they are, but that we are man for man a lot better and are such a well drilled outfit. That point applies to the vast majority of our remaining games. If we play anywhere close to our best, we win them. 160
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 01/01/2025Happy New Year to everyone, but especially those who support a team who is going to win the league this year 090
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 29/12/2024Izzy Christiansen again with the ‘If Liverpool get a few injuries it could get tighter’. Are these pundits incapable of doing even the most basic research? 290
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 29/12/2024If everyone continues to get the same PPG as in the first half of the season AFC finish on 76, CFC on 74, NFFC on 75. Based on that we would need 32 points from 20 games to clinch the league It won’t turn out the way, but it highlights how impeccable the others need to be from now on to close up. 050
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 29/12/2024That’s as efficient as you will see. Work like dogs to break them, rack up the goals and then down through the gears to conserve energy. Perfect away day. Mad thing is, not even sure we played that well😂 040
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 26/12/2024Could be a big win in the fight against relegation for City to be fair 020
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 26/12/2024The one in Citys favour is that Pep is one of the best coaches of all time, he should have no problem turning this around with his level of genius. Such an incredible coach won’t just have to resort to getting the cheque book out again and again. 051
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 23/12/2024Many (me included) worried about going into season with Grav as main no.6, Slot knew best. Everyone clamouring for a 9, Slot quietly converts Diaz to a brilliantly effective false 9 I’m beginning to think this Slot guy knows best and we should all just buckle up and see where it takes us. 190
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 22/12/2024Must be a fair while since Merseyside had more points than Manchester at this stage of a season. 040
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 21/12/2024Brilliant fight that, Fury so much better than in recent fights. No controversy whichever way goes as so many rounds were really close. 000
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 20/12/2024Carry On. Die Hard meets Phone Booth meets Passenger 57. And what a fun mash up that makes. Really entertaining movie. 020
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 19/12/2024I think instructions for Sunday are relatively easy: ‘Press the fuck out of Forster and shoot on site’ 1100
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 19/12/2024Hahaha this is high quality comedy. Spurs and United fighting to be the most Spursy. 171
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 19/12/2024Any chance Forster could save one of these for the weekend? 030
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 19/12/2024I think we can all agree how relieved we are that the Blues period of turmoil is over and we can all joining in wishing them a very positive start to the new regime with a good home win at the weekend. Good luck Blues, we’re right behind you 👍👍 130
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 18/12/202424 games: 20 wins, 3 draws. 1 defeat. I don’t know where this season will take us, but I do know that Slot took on a job most of thought nigh on impossible (replacing a legend) and he’s blowing expectations totally out of the water. What a start, what a gaffer. 1200
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 18/12/2024I mean that’s a lovely goal, but Hooper just saw Endo take the ball flush in the face and hit the deck. Shouldn’t he have technically have stopped play? 270
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 18/12/2024Commentator just said ‘you just feel like they are one really good pass way from creating a good chance’ Isn’t the literally the case in every game of football, ever? 2100
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 15/12/2024If City weren’t totally ruined before, this will do it. 1 win in 11, playing shite and beaten by a side who are actually even worse than them in the circumstances…. Ouch. 050
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 15/12/2024That’s legit one of the worst hours of football I’ve ever watched. 130
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 15/12/2024No question that Szobo has raised his game in the last few weeks. Wondering if this is a drawback of having a smallish squad? With Elliott injured and Jones out for a while he has no competition. As soon as the returned he has definitely gone up a notch or too. 010
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 15/12/2024Someone with a better memory than me, didn’t we score a goal this season where one of the players got fouled when clean through, but it broke to another who finished it, therefore the ref didn’t give a red card for DOGSO? 210
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 15/12/2024So the Robbo red was for DOGSO. Even though Wilson wasn’t getting Back to the ball after his touch, and they still got a shot away. So it didn’t dent a goal scoring opportunity Also, he allowed play to go on, they shot and THEN he pulled it back, they got the advantage and free kick. 040
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 14/12/2024I’ve seen plenty times when a pen is given after a defender goes to clear the ball, Striker comes from blindside and nicks it and the defender makes contract. The logic is always that intent doesn’t come into it, it’s just a foul How is that any different to Tete on Gomez? He literally takes him out 191
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 14/12/2024How sharp did Jota look by the way. All i want for Christmas is for him to be available until the end of the season 060
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 14/12/20245 points ahead of Chelsea with level games, 6 ahead of Arsenal with a game in hand, 9 ahead of City, players starting to come back. We’d all have taken this pre season wouldn’t we. 0221
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 14/12/2024Special mention to Ryan freaking Gravenberch though. Not content with becoming a high class 6, he then drops into the back four with no notice and doesn’t put a foot wrong. His composure is absolutely another level. 88110
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 14/12/2024I know theres caveats due to his position changing through the game, but I do get constantly frustrated at Trent jogging back once the ball has got behind him. Could have got tighter on 1st goal and plenty other times you could him just jogging back behind the play when everyone else was sprinting 000
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 14/12/2024Not sure how Diop didn’t get a red for studs up into Robbos knee, not sure Periera didn’t get a red for raking down Gravs calf and heel, not sure how Tete taking out Gomez wasn’t a pen. Robbo one was correct though, just too slow on that one. 6397
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 14/12/2024All things considered, I think I’ll take that Would definitely be throwing a bid in for Robinson as well, quality defensively and going back. Thought Slot was brilliant with his constant tweaking and system changes to keep Fulham guessing and us in control for large parts 070
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 14/12/2024And not meant to give offsides unless it’s obvious, yet he’s just flagged Diaz when he’s 2 yards onside One of those days is it ? 060
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 14/12/2024Studs first, knee high, with force I can’t keep up with the rules but that’s red isn’t it? 021
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 10/12/2024Well over 500 minutes since we conceded a goal in the Champions League. Not bad really 010
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 10/12/2024Total reliance on the north west train network this afternoon. If my train is exactly on time I should get home just in time for kick off. …not confident 000
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 08/12/2024Turning into a nice weekend this. Couple of rivals dropping points while our lads sit at home in the warm with a cuppa feeling those injuries he’ll and fatigue slip away. Come on Spurs, finish it off in style for us 080
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 08/12/2024Someone needs to mock up that ‘you’re doing a great job son’ meme of Shanks and Bob. But with John Beck and Harry Bassett looking down at Arteta. 000
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 08/12/2024Hang on a minute, not that it impacts the Arsenal goal (which was onside) but where is the semi automated offside system that was due to be introduced after the first, then the second international break? 000
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 05/12/2024Fulham now in the top six. Going under the radar but they have started the season brilliantly 110
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 05/12/2024Schars finish was so difficult, the touch, timing and direction had to be perfect, no margin for error. No imagine he had the added distraction of someone marking him. For all Kelleher should have dealt with it, I feel Trent is getting a bit of a free pass for just switching off and letting him go 220
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 04/12/2024Anyway, just checked the table and we’re 7 points clear. Don’t make me drag up the posts from the old place where pretty much everyone said they would be happy with top 4 this season. We were never going to win every game but miles ahead of what we all thought. Chill out and trust in Arne. 2110
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 04/12/2024I do fully believe we need a number 9 though as a matter if urgency. Can’t rely on Jota due to the injuries and the less said about the other lad the better. 481
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 04/12/2024We were never going to win every game, but so much better second half and I think a draw is a very fair result based on the game. Can’t legislate for the odd individual mistake, and Kelleher has saved us plenty times recently. Take the point, still miles ahead, all good. 0100
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 04/12/2024And who cares if ultimately it means he stays too long and in 2 years he drops off. Fuck it, he’s earned the right. 060
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 04/12/2024Just give him a blank piece of paper and say whatever you want mate, just write it down and we’ll sign it. I’ll say it louder for those who don’t get it, we can’t replace what he’s giving us every single week. 020
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 02/12/2024Neville was right as well. Sometimes you have to press high and fast, other times you control the ball, and others you can give the opposition the ball but keep them at arms length. Our most impressive aspect is that we can seemingly switch between those approaches in a heartbeat, at the right time. 090
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 02/12/2024Still can't get over just how good we were yesterday, I know there will be blips in the season, and there's a couple of key players we could really do with keeping fit, but the team as a unit looks so in tune and totally bought into the approach, it's great to see 0110
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 01/12/2024Well fair to say I enjoyed that. Straight out to watch Bluetones down the Baltic, then home for supper And Match of the day. Carlsberg don’t do Sundays… 020
Ste Davies @stevend1977.bsky.social · 01/12/2024Got to be big Joe G starting today hasn’t it? Quansah is a fine prospect and huge talent but think this is one is just too big right now, especially after a couple of patchy games. He will have his day, plenty of them. But I’m not sure today is one of them 220
