I get that MLB has a vested interest in more playoff baseball because of the way revenue is done. but as with interleague, it does diminish the regular season somewhat. and we all like more playoff baseball. I wonder how much of the people not going regular season is due to these things

there are arguments against of course. the fact that the teams that won the 162 game marathon being eliminated in small series (7 c. 162 included, 2026 an exemplar). attendance in the 2020s is down versus the 2010s and the 2000s. world series television ratings are down.

look at the way Walz' suit looks against the backdrop of the curtain. go to the Van orden portrait in the article with the exact same face angle, the exact same lighting. this is absolutely obvious AI. we're doomed if we can't at least see this.

it's obvious even in cameos. the exact same lighting angle on the face (and the same complexion) despite one person being behind an empty wall with no decoration. another person in front of curtains slightly open directly behind them, and another person with the windows entirely open. the hands.

they're not even pretending that the military actions or lack of actions. the diesel fiasco with Russia (or is it South Korea via proxy?) aren't simply manipulations for the midterm elections. and people will still vote for republicans.

is Mullen at least backing away from the now proven false accusation that this happened because he tried to ram the agents? leaving aside he seems to suggest that he shouldn't try to get his 5-year-old away from anonymous people trying to break in his window

also good to remind people making the Exodus argument and using Maryland as an example, they always pick the year after the economic crash of 2007-2008. the millionaires in Maryland did not leave, they were no longer millionaires after that crash which had nothing to do with the millionaire tax ofc

this is what leads people to believe that right wing violence is in fact justified. that white people are in their fantasies, under attack. that a person like Van Orden can be put up as somehow the victim of violent environment that he as a participant in January 6th created is breathtaking.

what's up with the AI portraits? gross. a more major point in your attempt to make this seem like something new, and both sides, you don't even mention the fact that actual violence is predominantly on the right. this feeds right wing misinformation that it's a left phenomena.

important to note here that some of the good Court watchers on this platform have pointed out that this committee is probably just designed to give the appearance of due process for the firing so as to satisfy the supreme court's objection on that count.

you should make it clear that this is what Trump is saying. as far as I know, Russia has not lifted its own export man on diesel. it doesn't have enough for its own uses, much less ours. the most likely thing that is happening here is an attempt to influence our elections via PR.

one of the things that I think is interesting about that is that he is not following the general playbook to use "communist" instead of socialist, because socialism now has a pretty positive connotation for most people. and of course socialism=woke=anything I want it to mean

this is just one example, in a corner that most people will not look into, that illustrates what AI is absolutely going to do. it's going to filter everything based on what its creators wants to collect, wants to sell or any other purpose it promotes. it is never going to be an honest broker.

never, ever surrender your rights to a cop. they're not your friend, they're not going to be your friend. you don't have to play nice. especially if you're not guilty of anything. there's absolutely no advantage to surrendering your rights. if you are guilty of something, get a lawyer before this

it's utterly scandalous that a nominally business-oriented outlet would put this out as if it was a rational choice. it's going to kill American Business if he does stuff like this. we are already scandalously behind on something that we will have to do. but maybe Bloomberg=science denial now?

I think it bears saying that Cornell's own biannual surveys, the most recent in 2025 showed that across all campuses, 32% of undergraduate women reported non-consensual sexual conduct including rape. that's a tick up from the 2023 survey. but consistent with the results.

the only thing that I would add is that it's a pretty old thing. the health and wellness influencers that use misinformation, semi-information are ubiquitous in the social media. somehow we need people to educate themselves, understand how to evaluate these kind of claims. not holding my breath

the system is entirely screwed, I don't know what your situation is, not judging you, but most of the time this isn't the doctors, it's the system. they get scheduled for 20 minute appointments, if it doesn't take 20 minutes everybody else gets pushed back. and if you're in a triage situation?

the US economy is expanding only if you define the US economy as the stock market. for everyone else? not so much. this is yet more evidence than our economy needs basic restructuring to put wealth generated by people back into the hands of people instead of into the hands of capitalists
