Bob Weir’s death prompted a lot of people to list their ten favorite Dead songs. I’m, at my core, a punk-rock guy, but here are my top 10 in no particular order. Jack Straw Althea Cassidy The Wheel Wharf Rat Scarlet Begonias Deal He’s Gone Bertha Morning Dew Pic included for extra controversy…:)

Since the phrase of the week appears to be “self-defense,” and my day job involves exactly that topic more often than yours probably does, I started a Substack blog and did a little writing. OK, a lot of writing. The bottom line? Self-defense will be a tough sell. Dig in for nerdy law talk.

"Self-defense," you say? Let's talk about that.

or: how the comment section could easily lead you astray on the law

I’m way late to the party on this one but the Hipgnosis doc is fantastic if you grew up with their ‘60s and ‘70s album art. I also learned something: this photo wasn’t prehistoric photoshop; the dude was legit on fire. Many many times. Shine on, crazy diamonds….

Important info from yesterday’s celebration of #NationalDrummerDay. Now you’ll be ready for next year’s NDD.

The best, most handsome boy, and finest office manager and sidekick ever would have been 12 years old today. He left us in August and the place hasn’t been the same since. Milo was one of a kind.

Best pic I ever took? It’s a contender anyway. Facing west at sunrise. Wonder Valley, CA. Out where the wild things are.
