Nothing is coming close to killing me and I’m at full health pretty much all the time. The combat just feels really boring and uninspired. The boss fights have been a bit interesting but 90% of the encounters are standard enemy types plus fodder 🤷🏻‍♂️

Man… the combat continues to not be great. I’ve got more options but everything I’m fighting feels like a fist sponge more than any kind of skill based combat. Just hit hit hit hit hit hit hit hit hit hit hit. Rinse, repeat. Game is lucky it looks so good and the world is so interesting…

Been continuing to hang in there with Control Resonant and it feels like it’s starting to become a good time. The time investment needed to get here is… a lot… but at some point the combat became okay and the movement in the world became fun. This lets you consume the lore and remedy vibe.

Oh, I sparred with a guy that was like 50 pounds lighter than me and I wrecked him with muscle memory and brute strength. Afterwards he said he was in high school wrestling and I had an incredible sprawl. Lol, fuck them kids 🕺🏻

Tried wrestling for the first time in 25+ years and I have not been this gassed out in as long as I can remember. Outside of how terrible my high intensity endurance is, it was a real good time. I have not fought anyone full strength since I was like 18 and it turns out, I’m strong as hell.

Lol, I looked when I was interested and in a store. It’s wood ass wood. It needs treatment and seasoning, and warm water hand washing. I’m so specific with some recipes that I’m actuallly also worried it’ll steal some moisture or absorb parts of ingredients. Pure form over function.

The bowl is the primary reason I haven’t. It’s goddamn gorgeous but I desperately need to reduce the number of things that require maintenance in my life. Little things like leather goods and wood cutting boards really start to add up and I’d feel terrible if i let them rot or decay.

Started Control Resonant and got past the first boss. Initial impressions are that the game feels fine. I think it tangibly hurts that I’m coming into it straight from Onimusha which had phenomenal combat and outrageously good acting.

Testing out 4 different types of treatment on brass coins to add some tarnish. My personal favorite is the top left of hearing it till it’s literally red hot with a blowtorch. The top right is baked at 450 for 30 min. The other two are blowtorches at lower and lower temps.

It reminds me a bit of how Andor is Star Wars but it does it without the Jedi, Yoda, or other name dropping fan service that almost every other Star Wars thing does. The movie is Resident Evil to its core without pandering. You would know it were Resident Evil even without the name.

At multiple points during the movie, I was thinking “it can’t keep this up” and somehow, it kept keeping it up till the very last shot. A triumph. It’s not an adaptation of the game, it’s a Resident Evil fan love letter.

Full separation from work through gym has been good for me. Best thing about a 9-to-5 style job is turning it all the fuck the way off when not working. Treat all your non-work time the way you treated the “I won’t sleep and do what I want” periods and you can do anything 🙌🏼
