Just watched the video. Decent enough song, but certainly nothing exceptional and hardly worth a feature in Rolling Stone.

#Frankenstein #cartoon by Bruce Ackerman (1935-2025), originally published in the March 1973 edition of the glamour magazine Gallery. #horror #humour
A crowd gathers around a man who is lying on the pavement. Frankenstein approaches, perched upon the shoulder of his famous creation: "Let me through, please! I'm a doctor."

Fugitive

Been running so long,
can no longer tell
if I’m heading for Heaven,
or on a hiding to Hell.

My future's behind me,
my past's caught in the curve;
when destiny's driving,
there's no time to swerve.

Did my life have a meaning,
maybe I'll never know,
but I hope the seeds that I've sown
will flourish, and grow.

The road ahead narrows,
no hint of a bend:
You get what you're given,
and all journeys end.

The 1966 Batman television series featured many ludicrous moments, but the idea that the curvaceous Jill St John could pass herself off as Burt Ward is inarguably one of the more insane.

In which case, don't scam consumers by using any other phrase than 'rent'. Telling folks they are *buying* games and films will clearly leave them with an impression of ownership, as will referring to their "library". Meanwhile, my books, movies and other physical media sit happily on their shelves.

With respect, Powell's views on immigration policy are irrelevant to my view on Starmer's genuinely baffling inability to make use of a huge (albeit shallow) Parliamentary majority. That said, Burnham's history of U-turns makes it difficult to know where to set the bar for his own time in office.

The quote came from Powell, so why pretend otherwise? Starmer's premiership stumbled virtually from day one. Again, why pretend otherwise?

A shrewd historian, Enoch Powell once suggested -- with rare exceptions (early death or a well-timed exit) -- all political lives end in failure. Keir Starmer took that axiom further: his reign in Downing Street also began in failure.
Keir Starmer announces his resignation.
