This disgusting possibility, the disgraceful ICE shootings, the botching of an execution and trying to then save that life, so the state can possibly execute her again... Sure, the US is full of of many good, decent people, but so is Russia, so is North Korea, so is Iran America, you are no better.

I’m sickened by all the media tributes for author and politician Jeffrey Archer, including one from “Queen” Camilla. A liar and a crook, for crimes that weren’t victimless, deserves no such tributes, regardless of talent or achievements. Shame on all those overlooking the pain he caused others.

Let’s stop pretending the USA is a civilised, 21st century country. US death row inmate Christa Pike taken to hospital after surviving two lethal injections, says lawyer www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Yep, I wasn't a huge fan of him before he became leader, but when he became PM, I saw a great leader who gave it everything and did it for the right reasons too. A shame those shallow colleagues around him didn't stick with him. They have blown up the Labour party again.

I hope we do see it of course, but I fear when it comes to the crunch, most of it will indeed be, all talk. We shall see.

Starmer wasn't perfect, but he was real. Burnham is indeed more like Johnson.

Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Totally agreed. I just don't rate him. I didn't all those years ago either. He's ok as a Mayor obviously, but being in Government is totally different. No idea what I would want as an alternative to Lab, even his Lab, but that doesn't mean we need to like him or even back him. Its like Corbyn again.

Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Yes, he says what people want to hear, then about turns, when the audience is different. His remain voting constituency by election campaign versus all this rejoining the EU stuff now, for example. Excuse my language, but he's full of shite. As you can guess, I'm no fan of Mr Burnham.

Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Yep. Most of what he talked about he can still flip flop on at a later date when it proves too unpopular for his ego. I simply can't stand the man nor those self serving disciples about him. Popular within Lab but it won't wash country wide. I want to see a successful Lab Gov Burnham is not the man.

Despite all the adulation around Burnham & his speech, my view on him & the fawning, back stabbers around him, hasn't changed at all. Its still Andy, me, me, me Burnham & the "We love you Andy" brigade... All I hear are words & long off promises, which when they prove unpopular, he'll flip flop on.

Oh yes.

Well, all I can take from the few snippets I've seen of the Cabinet members at the Labour conference is that I now dislike just about every single one of them. To me, all I see are snivellers, chancers, liars, incompetents & ego's. Yet, this is the lot I prefer to be in power. Hope? Nope...

Of course, there is nothing more important going on in the country... and the world, than allowing drunken yobs to dominate football matches again. This PM is a bloody joke. Surely someone in Labour, somewhere, has a coup up their sleeve?

So BBC Lunchtime news and other media, put this pathetic story about a little racist village, ahead of the story of missing 3 year old, toddler Noah Woods? Then we hear that Burnham will actually take a look at the "referendum" they conducted... What have we become?

Did the constant sniping at Starmer by those that wanted Burnham as PM not help Reform then? Dear, old dear, you can't have it both ways. You can absolutely detest Farage and Reform and still criticise Burnham when necessary you know. You can't tell people not to criticise him, because of Reform.
010
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
This lady is certainly saying that.
010
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
So again I say, what about the "chipping away" at Starmer, for months and months by Labours own and the plotting by some MPs and Burnham himself? Burnham isn't the saviour either, he is there for himself, no other reason.
000
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
Maybe, but people who criticise Burnham are not necessarily ignoring the Reform threat, as you suggested earlier on. You can do both. Burnham shouldn't be given a free pass just because we fear a Reform Government and he's certainly not getting one from me.
220
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
He doesn't realise they are also winding their windows down and shouting W@nker too...
020
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
I didn't say the Greens were a threat, or not... I simply used them to point out your assumption about peoples timelines was incorrect. It seems to me that you think any criticism of Burnham is not advisable, because it helps Reform. That didn't seem to apply with criticism of Starmer did it.
110
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
Yep, agreed. Me personally, I don't think Burnham has what it takes, so I will criticise him, where I think he deserves it, even though I detest Reform. If he does well and keeps Labour in power I will be happy, but we can still criticise him and in my case, actually dislike the man.
010
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
No its not. It could be that they want, say, the Greens to succeed perhaps. Being critical of Burnham, doesn't give you that conclusion at all. Otherwise, the exact same would have been said about the constant criticism of Starmer, which I seem to remember, was made to thwart the threat of Reform.
210
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
What the thugs and Reform wanted was to bring down Starmer. He was the real threat to them, not this joker, Burnham. With the help of the media and sadly many fools within Labour, including his supposedly loyal ministers, that is exactly what they got.

I've lived near the coast all my life & thankfully never needed the support of the RNLI, but I've known many who have. When members of this wonderful charity have to worry about their security & safety it disgusts me. What sort of country has racists, idiots & thugs that do this? Shame on the UK.

Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 05/09/2026
Yes, Starmer is in a better place, but we are not...
010
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
Yes he is. We all knew he wasn't as unpopular as they suggested. Sure, like all PMs he would be hated by lots, but I think he was the best PM of my lifetime & many others liked him as PM too. Still, he's gone now & we're left with a Lab Gov who we should be pleased are there, but now can't trust. 😒

Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
I disagree.

Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
Yep, you are right.

Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
The exposing by C4 of the Reform donation fiddles & the false polls used to show their popularity & the lack of popularity for Starmer, means we must ask why the media & Lab MPs didn't question this. So many of us could see it. UK politics is in the lowest place I have know in my long life.

Yep, he is way out of his depth. She is useless, yet he is worse. They both made Ed Davey look really good. 😉

The media are doing it too. He certainly had them worried. Good luck to him now, whatever he does.

He's got out of it all now and away from those treacherous Labour MP's. He's won.

Nothing at all.
020
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
He sounds more like Noel Edmunds than a PM. Positivity... 😒 The man has nothing real to offer at all. What have those Labour MP's done?

Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
Sadly David, you are full of shite and what's more, clearly a fool, sucked in by a showman. Bye.
000
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
Upset a few with this post, but I'm not sorry. I'm not giving Burnham a chance, I already know that he's no good. It's for them to find that out for themselves in the coming weeks and months now. Burnham, his disloyal MP's and those supporting him, have totally messed it all up, yet again.
050
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
I'm not going to like Burnham, or give him a chance, just because people like you, tell me I ought to. Starmer was far from perfect, but he led the Lab we voted in to Govt. His "boring" style was what we voted for & just what the country needed. Now we have gone back to a Boris Johnson type clown.
110
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
If you think Burnham has any quality superior to Starmer, then your judgement is poor. Starmer wasn’t a liability, he was real hope. Burnham is a joke. I couldn’t disagree with you more. Nice chatting.

Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Please yourself. As far as I’m concerned things were going well and the country was becoming half decent again, when this joker was thrust upon us and has basically f#caked it all up again. I gave him chances decades ago. He was crap then too.
110
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
The man is useless as all his “I love Andy” fans will all soon find out. It all starts properly now and he will be found to be utterly useless. He’s always been 2nd rate and just a showman.
110
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 30/08/2026
Badenoch is not a good opposition leader, or person and not the best communicator, or debater. A gift to Labour. Starmer kept her in check easily. She’ll make Burnham look exactly what he is though. Second rate and full of shite.
2102
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
Yep, Starmer and Labour brought real hope and then they ditched Starmer, because a 2nd rate politician was simply talking about hope. They have and will be found out. In the meantime we have had that real hope taken away by their personal ambitions and their gullibility.
070
Steve Emm @steveemm.bsky.social · 29/08/2026
We would probably expect the media to behave that way, but so many Labour MP's doing so is the game changer for me. I will never trust those particular individuals again.

Yep, Sadiq Khan is a real Mayor making the right decisions, not one who just wants to be popular, like someone else who now resides (some of the time), in Downing Street.

That old one? Jog on and bye.

Look at the previous senior politicians to make this same error, dopey David Cameron and incompetent Boris Johnson and you get a good impression of the latest one to fall for it. Burnham, you are just not up to the job.
