I interpret it (from the outside) as urging the context-sensitivity, culture-relativity, and group-specificity of judgments, in a way that rules out the possibility of theory, because the latter implies generality and abstraction. It’s a critique of theory as such, not just liberalism specifically.

Just for clarity and transparency, I feel it should be noted that in the “Daily Nous” discussion I didn’t attribute to Dummett a lack of concern; he was indeed appalled. But he downplayed, in effect, the extent to which Frege was a political thinker, as distinct from someone with racist “attitudes.”

As a logician and a rationalistic philosopher, Frege represents an interesting counter-example to the stereotype of fascist intellectuals as irrationalists, a conception popularized by Bertrand Russell’s 1935 article, “Revolt Against Reason,” which remains highly influential today.
