Yeesssss. I'm liking what I'm seeing in the NextConf livestream. Next.js has been bending the meaning of "static" and "dynamic" for a long time. It's good to be up front about it. Next.js 16 is still investing heavily in HTTP streaming which may be counterproductive for many sites.

Back to work after a week on Lake Superior

A photo of my oldest son and I walking on the breakwater in Grand Marias harbor. We have or hands on each others backs for safety and guidance. We are walking away from the camera which was held by my father. Stare at the photo for more than a few seconds and you will hear “Cat’s in the Cradle” playing alongside a few tears dropping.

I'm putting together a slide deck about collaborative documentation editing and pull requests. Gotta include a screenshot of the time when, as Faux Al Gore, I got a typo fix merged into a government repo.

Was this line was a Freudian slip? After all, the messaging around HTML5 was overly sanctimonious and perhaps deserving of a little resentment. I preferred HTML 3.2 myself 😉

You won’t see it directly on the video feed, but know that as I do this @pantheon.io livestream with @jazzsequence.com in an hour about @github.com integration, I will be oh so much more effective because, for the first time, I’ll be streaming from my new double-standing desk situation.
