This week's entry for #Sharemondays2026:
An early morning view across the local marsh before the mist lifted. The marsh is used to graze cattle and serves as a flood plain for a chalk stream. A railway line runs through the marsh up on an embankment.

This week's entry for #Sharemondays2026 is from Lands End:
Standing alone on the cliffs just to the south of Lands End one evening last week I was witness to some wonderful light in otherwise blustery conditions as the day drew to an end.

Looking out towards the sea arch of Enys Dodnan the Armed Knight and the Longships lighthouse in the distance, I chose a relatively short exposure of just over 1s to capture the motion of the sea. An evening I will remember for some time.

For this week's #Sharemondays2026 here is a simple colourful image of a kite.
A colourful kite in the sky above an Essex beach during yesterdays family gathering to celebrate my upcoming birthday. A wonderful day filled with simple pleasures with the children, a game of cricket, building sandcastles and dipping our toes in the sea.

This weeks offering for #Sharemondays2026 from Baker Street station:
On the way to Lords for the test match on Saturday took me through Baker Street. Would have been rude not to take a few snaps before heading off to the ground. This image depicts a gentleman awaiting his train sitting in the recess between the arches. Whilst this location has been photographed many many times it was good to finally put my own take on it. Taken with my old Canon 350D, 8MP, no IBIS, manageable RAW file sizes and a rear screen that is very difficult to see, but a camera that fits well in my hand, is extremely portable and still fun to use!

"One Man and His Dog" is my entry for this week's #Sharemondays2026
An elderly man stops to survey his surroundings whilst walking his dog. He has stopped along a tree lined lane and looks out over a dry stone wall across adjacent farmland (out of frame) as twilight approaches.

One from the Peak District for this week's #Sharemondays2026:
The last light of the day bathes a copse that wraps itself over the hillside near to Castleton in the Peak District national park. I captured the image as I walked back to the car after photographing Pevril Castle. The bright yellow patches are just the sunlight illuminating the dry grass beyond the long shadows of the trees that shade the fence line.

"Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid-day sun." One for this week's #Sharemondays2026 taken in Spain last week.
Sails hung over the town square in Benissa on the Costa Blanca in Spain. The tower of Benissa Cathedral is visible between them. The sails provide some respite for the locals and tourists alike from the midday sun.

This week's offering for #Sharemondays2026 depicts a local field at sunrise after the harvest.
First light of the day illuminates straw bales laying in the fields after the harvest. The footpath is a favourite amongst locals and the oak tree has become a local icon in the campaign against local development in the green belt.

I don't think I have seen bales of straw hanging around in fields as long as they seem to be this year. Something to do with the fire risk maybe? #Sharemondays2026
Bales of straw awaiting collection. I assume they are being left out as long as possible to ensure they are fully dried out before being put into storage.

Had a few evenings poking around some long grasses for this week's #Sharemondays2026
A small butterfly roosting amongst long grasses approaching sunset. The markings suggest that this is a common blue, but this little chap was a lot smaller than expected. Then I thought it was a small blue but my reference books suggest that the markings on a small blue are much paler. Any assistance with identification would be appreciated.

Something a little different for this week's #Sharemondays2026.
Statues of the human form in a hospital reception. I have had many opportunities to photograph these in the last week in different lighting conditions whilst visiting my elderly mum. Hopefully she will soon be homeward bound!

For this week's #Sharemondays2026 I revisited a location I first photographed ten years ago. The skyline as changed a bit in that time and the sky was a bit devoid of cloud...but hey ho!

One from the briefest of visits to Berlin last week. We were meant to stay for 4 nights but had to return home after just one due to family illness. Thankfully they are now fine and we look forward to returning to explore the city at some point in the future. #Sharemondays2026
The photograph depicts the famous Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. Taken at dusk just after the lights were switched on. The road behind the gate runs through Tiergarten park up to the Victory Monument which can just be seen if you zoom right into the image.

Between Overs. One from The Oval on the 2nd day of the 2nd test match against New Zealand for #Sharemondays2026:
A monochrome image of the JM Finn stand at the Kia Oval. The white whispy cloud in a blue sky made this a BW image from the outset. It looks like the famous gasholder is being converted into flats in a similar fashion to those at St Pancras lock.

Hats are the order of the day in the sunny conditions, although these fans are now benefiting from the shade of the stadium in the late afternoon.

Taken on a 20 year old Canon 350D with a huge 8MP sensor. I still love using this camera, if only for it's portability.

Some rain drops for this week's #Sharemondays2026.

For this week's #Sharemondays2026 competition I offer an image of a common blue Damselfly.
A common blue Damselfly clinging to long grass on the banks of a lake in a local park. It is always a privilege to photograph these delicate little creatures.

I had been looking for a banded demosielle but failed to spot any on yesterday mornings walk. Went home happy with my consolation prize!

It's a simple scene of a small boat on a small Scottish Loch for this week's #Sharemondays2026
A rowing boat tied up alongside a short jetty at the edge of a small Loch on the island of North Uist. The photograph was taken late afternoon just after low cloud that had been around for most of the day had lifted. Half an hour later the cloud/mist returned such that you could no longer see the opposite bank.

For this week's #Sharemondays2026 I am sharing a monochrome image of what I believe were once warehoses along the River Lea.
Late afternoon light illuminates what I belive were once warehouses on the banks of tge River Lea in Hertford. The silhouettes of the castle theatre (now Beam) and an old malt house can be seen in tge roof line.

Waterford Marsh is in the Beane valley in rural Hertfordshire just north of the county town.
