The hate might be misogyny but the movie was pretty dull and poorly paced. I was extremely excited for it and left feeling pretty bummed. Character moments felt totally unearned and Lobo actively made the movie worse. All IMO.

I’m not impressed by it since it’s doing basically a version of an idea I had while doing a second year stats course, just with billions of dollars and no safety rails for the world problems it is hyper accelerating.

I heard a podcast with a doctor who points out that it came from a very technical paper that was intentionally misread to make enormously unfounded extrapolations. Even the title of the paper is undecipherable if you’re not in the field of study.

The US is a pretty religious country and most religions have prescribed morality which then flows into law. Having your own moral opinions is poo-pooed as being “subjective morality” which scares them to death.

I just binged the first 7 episodes last night. It’s fine. There are shows I know are better that I’m not watching instead because I felt like something that didn’t need a lot of thinking. I wouldn’t recommend but don’t have any issues with people enjoying it.
