I got this journal a while back and hadn't used it. Decided to it to my grandsons as they were going through some tough times. WOW! They've gone through this and wrecked it's life or of it. And the smiles and stress release they experienced was worth this journal.

20 years ago this month, I became a stepmom coach. I'd already been a stepmom for 15 years by then. I knew the loneliness. The confusion. The feeling that you're doing everything wrong even when you're giving everything you have.

8 grandchildren and a thriving marriage later, I can tell you: the hard work was worth it. It wasn't an easy journey, and I made plenty of mistakes along the way. But building a "micro-community" based on respect and shared commitment is possible—one STEP at a time. 💛👵

"I finally had enough and sent a lengthy text. Basically I told her off. Now our Son is in the middle." This is what happens when you do everything right for years—mature co-parenting, put the kids first, stay kind—and still get treated like you're "good enough to babysit, not good enough to bond."

There's a particular kind of exhaustion that comes with stepfamily life—and most people never see it. It's not the visible work of packing lunches or managing schedules or organizing birthdays. It's the invisible work of constantly managing yourself. open.substack.com/pub/stepmomc...
