🤣 all I can think of is Look Who's Talking Too
Toilet monster from the movie Look Who's Talking Too saying "Give me your pee-pee. I want your pee-pee. If you don't give me your pee-pee the next time you sit on this toilet I'm gonna bite your tooshie off!"

Also the damn DVD we had, had no chapters so she FAST FORWARDED MANUALLY like it was a VHS to get to that scene EVERY DAMN DAY. It also had that list of questions under the front flap that was supposed to help you figure out the meaning of the film. I kept reading them and trying to figure it out.
The 10 questions that were on the inside of the front flap of my family's DVD copy of

MULHOLLAND DRIVE
David Lynch's 10 Clues to Unlocking This Thriller
1 Pay particular attention in the beginning of the film: at least two clues are revealed before the credits.
2 Notice appearances of the red lampshade.
3 Can you hear the title of the film that Adam Kesher is auditioning actresses for? Is it mentioned again?
4 An accident is a terrible event... notice the location of the accident.
5 Who gives a key, and why?
6 Notice the robe, the ashtray, the coffee cup.
7 What is felt, realized and gathered at the club Silencio?
8 Did talent alone help Camilla?
9 Note the occurrences surrounding the man behind Winkies.
10 Where is Aunt Ruth?

Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell's quote is what I immediately think of with these types of photos.
Screenshot of a People magazine article from April 8, 1974, headline "Edgar Mitchell's Strange Voyage"

It features a quote at the top:
You develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction with the state of the world, and a compulsion to do something about it. From out there on the moon, international politics looks so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, “Look at that, you son of a bitch.”

Earthset, taken from the Orion spacecraft window yesterday. Source: images.nasa.gov/details/art0...
Earthset captured through the Orion spacecraft window at 6:41 p.m. EDT, April 6, 2026, during the Artemis II crew’s flyby of the Moon. A muted blue Earth with bright white clouds sets behind the cratered lunar surface.
The dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime. On Earth’s day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region.
In the foreground, Ohm crater has terraced edges and a flat floor interrupted by central peaks. Central peaks form in complex craters when the lunar surface, liquefied on impact, splashes upwards during the crater’s formation.

I don't know what's going on in my husband's video game, but mood
A demon named "Rakshasa" in what is probably a visual novel Japanese RPG approaches the player with two sword things, and says "My hobbies are reading and knitting!" but it's stylized like someone who is at the end of their absolute rope "MYyYyyy hobBiEs aRrRRrre rEAdiNG anD kNitTiNg!" and I do know what that be like.

Okay, finally. After getting all four Switches physically together, logging into my Nintendo account twice on the family Switch, once on the Switch 2, and then transferring the virtual cartridge from his Switch Lite to my Switch, I can now play a game we own... for two weeks 😂
Two Switch 1s, a Switch 1 Lite, and a Switch 2 on an ottoman, with my husband's hands on the cooler Switch 1 (the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom OLED one, which is mine), and the menu on that Switch is instructing him to bring that Switch closer to the Switch 2, which it is almost touching.

Trying to finish up The Boys in the Boat for a book club that meets next Friday. I do not appreciate Libby's estimate that it will take me 18 more weeks to do this. Not cool. #MarchStash 📚

The Boys in the Boat

Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics

Written by Daniel James Brown

Narrated by Edward HerrmannAnother Libby screenshot with more information on the audiobook. The relevant text says "Time spent reading 2 hours, 31 minutes.

As you are 18% through you're on track to finish in 11 hours, 12 minutes

and because you first opened this book 4 weeks ago, it might take you another 18 weeks, 2 days"

AHA! The ISU posted pictures of Jackie Chan with the skaters, and we have PROOF that it was Nika in the Deadpool costume!
Several skaters from today's Olympics Exhibition Gala for figure skating surround Jackie Chan for a picture backstage with the panda plushes that he brought for Mikhail Shaidorov

*deep breath*
Back row: Nika Egadze (in his Deadpool costume sans mask), Luka Berulava, unfortunately Guillaume Cizeron, Nikita Volodin, Alexei Sviatchenko
Middle Row: Anastasiia Metelkina, Niina Petrokina (holding a panda plush), JACKIE FRICKEN CHAN, unfortunately Laurence Fournier Beaudry (holding a panda plush), Maria Pavlova
Front Row: Ilia Malinin (crouching, with Jackie Chan's hands on his shoulders)

NBC/USA coverage showed that Ilia is watching the Pairs Short in the stands, chatting with Donovan and Piper. I'm glad he's hanging out and getting to watch (he seems to really love skating, heard he watched the entire Free Dance from the stands too). #MilanoCortina2026 ⛸️

My children are going to either love or completely hate that the ice people from the ISU vanity card have been replaced with a new graphic of... glitter people? Anyway, the ice people were their favorite part of any ISU broadcast, so we'll see how this goes over 😅
The old ISU (International Skating Union) vanity card that used to play at the beginning/end of ISU competitions, featuring people made out of vines of ice doing various skating things. This frame features two ice people speed skating. The new ISU (International Skating Union) vanity card that now plays at the beginning/end of ISU competitions, featuring people made out of big glitter sequins doing figure skating moves only. This frame shows a glitter person in the middle of a Biellmann spin.

Played the drinking tabletop game "Heroes of Barcadia" tonight, and not only did I win with only 10 HP left in my glass, also I think having this Power-up card was very good for my marriage. I got so many forced compliments tonight! 😂
The Power-up card "Decree of Ass-Kissing" which reads "Once during your turn, you may demand that each of your opponents pay you a compliment. If they choose not to, they take 5 HP damage."

Also Stephonee's character cup is visible, with her last 10 HP worth of berry hard cider in it, which is color-coordinated purple with her character tonight, Intoxica the Necromixer.

Okay, *maybe* listening to the Desert Bus RDP playlist has not been great for... uh... some things.
The "My Mix" suggestion for Stephonee's YouTube music, where the text says "KPop Demon Hunters Cast, Andrew Choi..." which is fine and good, but the preview image for the first song is "Komm, Süsser Tod (cyberpunk/synthwave 80s) feat. Marina Rios" which, if you don't know anything about (I didn't before hearing it) is an upbeat synthwave version of an EXTREMELY DEPRESSING song from Neon Genesis Evangelion I guess (the name of the song is German for "Come, Sweet Death" and that isn't really even the half of it).

The song is real good and this version is a bop, though. Or maybe that says something about me I dunno.

Finally getting to playing the Mass Effect 2 Legendary Edition and it's been so long since I played ME1 that I forgot we named my Shepard this
Photo of the screen in Mass Effect 2, where you import your Mass Effect 1 character, and it shows that I apparently named my character "Hennifer" as in Jennifer + Hale.

Figure skating world championships were considered to be for men only until 1902, when Madge Syers showed up and took home silver and the ISU went "whooooops guess we need to segregate them." It happened again in 1992 Olympic skeet shooting: Zhang Shan took gold and then they segregated the event.
Figure skater Madge Syers, doing a one-foot glideZhang Shan, Olympic gold medalist in skeet shooting, pictured wearing goggles and with several, uh, shotgun casings? in the air in front of her. Look, I know figure skating words for the most part but not skeet shooting ones.

I could have picked one of the pictures of her with her gun but the ones without Getty copyright on them were all potato-quality, and also I probably would have used the wrong gun word there too.

Grant Figure Skating Pet Peeves

- That year Deniss Vasiļjevs had the same open flowy shirt in two different colors
- Eteri
- Whenever anyone doesn't hold a Spread Eagle (or really any move) long enough / as long as Keegan Messing would have

In may have to have a good think on this one - the DC area is truly a melting pot of folks from elsewhere so most of the food here isn't regional at all! My "back home" answer would be the Garbage Plate, which not everyone SHOULD try necessarily, since it's 2000 calories of self-described garbage
A photo of a Nick Tahou's Hots garbage plate from the Visit Rochester website, which offers this description of the ingredients:

"A traditional Garbage Plate is your choice of cheeseburger, hamburger, white or red hots* (aka hot dogs, especially those made by local company Zweigle’s), Italian sausage, chicken, or grilled cheese, served on top of any combination of home fries, french fries, baked beans, and/or macaroni salad. The plate is usually topped with a Rochester-style meat “hot sauce.” Optional mustard, onions and ketchup may be added on top. A Garbage Plate is traditionally served with a side of buttered bread (in case you were still hungry!)."

Super proud of getting 2 prizes donated to Desert Bus for Hope this year! From my employer, Mini Museum: Krayt Dragon Star Wars specimen, Space Shuttle Tire, a Campo del Cielo meteorite, Hollywood Sign, pins and stickers, Coelacanth cutting board, & the Mini Museum Fifth Edition acrylic collection.
All the items in the prize pack from Mini Museum for Desert Bus for Hope 2024, laid out: Krayt Dragon Star Wars IV specimen, Space Shuttle Tire specimen, a Campo del Cielo meteorite, the Hollywood Sign specimen, a bunch of science pins and stickers, a cutting board with a laser-etched Coelacanth fossil design (from a real 3D-scanned fossil) and the complete 34-specimen acrylic-embedded Mini Museum Fifth Edition.Close up of the acrylic Fifth Edition Mini Museum, its companion guide opened to the Oviraptor page, the Hollywood sign specimen, and visible behind are the display box & certificate of authenticity for the Mini Museum and the Space Shuttle Tire specimen.Close up of the Campo del Cielo meteorite in a gloved hand, for a sense of scale, against a backdrop of the other giveaway items. The meteorite is just under the size of a golf ball. Another image of the acrylic Fifth Edition Mini Museum, this time in its display stand (part of the prize pack, too!), with the certificate of authenticity, companion guide book, display box, and the other prize pack items in the background.

Finally got a profile pic up. Is it new? No, of course not, it's from 2016. No one's taken a good photo of my face* since my children were born 🤣 *(several good pictures of my neck have been taken for jewelry model shots for work, though)
