Some great spy work in this film that adds in more common tropes for the series and has aged a lot better than Dr No. The last third in particular (taking place on The Orient Express) is particularly thrilling. I didn't recognize him at first but Robert Shaw is an excellent Bond Villain in this film. This one has some gadgets but they are not too fantastical yet. Everything feels pretty grounded. I appreciated the runtime being under 2 hours and everything moved at a good pace. 4K release is sharp and the sound mix was decent in Atmos

A film masterfully directed by Steven Spielberg, where very little happens in the story but you get so much time to grapple with the anxiety of the whole situation; where a man is targeted and stalked by a homicidal truck. You feel his helplessness and his paranoia. Its intense! I was glued to the screen. The camerawork is creative and this really is a one man acting job by Dennis Weaver who is superb! This is basically that Bobs Burgers episode where the family battles a truck for the whole episode

First time watching this reimagining of The Odyssey. The film works well with a charming cast playing interesting characters. At 107 minutes long this moves at a fast pace and never gets stuck down into boredom. Plenty of gags and a lovely vibe throughout the movie "I don't want Fop, goddamnit, I'm a Dapper Dan man!" #TheOdyssey

This is a great movie let down by a somewhat clumsy third act. The plot is also incredibly bold in trying to ham-fistedly link all the previous Daniel Craig films together so that Blofeld can be the ultimate mastermind behind everything; but this retcon feels forced in an effort to make this film grander. Make no mistakes: this is exciting with some memorable action scenes and awesome villains (with Mr White, Blofeld, Mr Hinx and even C) but things are a little rushed compared to Skyfall before it that was utterly perfect. I like this movie but it feels like

I am not sure if its because I have been watching so much Roger Moore James Bond but this film was really good and held up incredibly well. I had not seen this since I was a kid (where I obviously would not of appreciated it). Considering it's the third in the franchise I think this is the first time we get such a tricked out car and an abundance of gadgets. Goldfinger is a memorable villain (with his Golden Revolver) and Pussy Galore is an excellent Bond Girl. Oddjob is one of the top tier henchmen too! This film

This met my expectations and was more of a traditional Bond story than License to Kill for Timothy Dalton's Bond (who regrettably only gets two films). Dalton plays this serious but there's still a few jokes here and there. It feels a lot better for me than the Roger Moore error where things got a bit too silly. Plenty of sleuthing with yet another KGB spy story (as was the style of Bond films at the time). This one does have a secondary villain Brad Whitaker (played by Joe Don Baker who we know from the Brosnan films as Jack

I last saw this in high school like 26 years ago maybe? I think everyone knows the twist (which would have been insane to find out through the film rather than going in with that information). This world is grim and fleshed out. Social normality's are so shifted like an alternate future. Its bleak uncomfortable. There's a real inequality between rich and poor. Female companions come with luxury apartment leases and are referred to as 'Furniture girls' just cementing women as a commodity Charlton Heston is a detective investigating a wealthy persons murder and burglarizes the victim whilst doing it

This movie is good but is let down by a boring lead character (not found in the games) with lame abilities (also not found in the games). The strongest plot in the film is the feud between Sub Zero and Scorpion which is adapted well. A lot of the plot is just "by magic this happens" for the heroes getting their abilities (including Jax's metal arms) or Raiden just teleporting people around (including the villains without their consent) It might be a bit long given the sagging middle. There's a lot to like in this though as it starts and

Clocking in at just under 2 hours this movie is an absolute slog to get through. Don Cheadle doing his best with what he has to work with. LeBron James doing a better acting job than we would have expected. The best part of this film is when everything is animated and they do the montage finding all the Toons in famous franchises. The plot quickly devolves into cheap pops for your favorite WB properties with plenty of noise and dazzling lights. I think if it was shorter I would have ranked it higher but yeah, its a slog.

A decent time waster that I liked as a kid and find a bit mediocre as an adult. Michael Jordan is a terrible actor (possibly because he has nobody to act with for the bulk of the film but mostly because it isn't his profession). The jokes are cringey and our lead isn't great with comedic timing. Regardless its fun and silly. Turn your brain off for 90 minutes

A wholesome story loosely based on the real tale of a Fray Tormenta. Jack Black is a cook at an orphanage who begins to wrestle in secret to earn money to help feed the kids but he loses himself a little in the vanity and glory of trying to become a famous luchador. Its fun and silly. Everything is so bright and colorful. Its like a cartoon (complete with plenty of exaggerated but well meaning caricatures). The music by Danny Elfman and Beck is perfect and very memorable. There's a lot of slapstick gags but everyone commits and it works.

This does feel like a waste of the potential of the premise: Seeing the Ape uprising. Things are very dark compared to the previous film and whilst there is a number of great moments and monologues this film feels very uneven and at times boring. There isn't a lot of plot on it from where Ceaser is mistakenly processed with the Apes and up to the end where the Apes take over the world. Much like the previous entry, Ricardo Montalban steals every scene he is in. The world seems interesting but barely fleshed out (it just seems sterile and

Frank Langella with a 5 star performance takes this movie into being watchable as he spouts Shakespearean dialogue chewing all the scenery as an over the top villain. Dolph Lungren is good as He-Man a

Watching this again: I think I was slightly too generous before. This is one of the worst Ghostface reveals and has so little emotional weight to it. The kills are huge and they upped the gore. Its te

I saw this when it came out. As a huge WCW fan I was amped to see a movie with all my heroes. Sadly, the world presented in this film was silly and clashed with the established cannon of the WCW product. I hated it. Now I have rewatched it 25 years later. Do I still hate it? No, I have mellowed and found I liked this movie for what it was. It was a goofy comedy and I got to see all my favourite wrestlers hamming it up. Knowing now that Kanyon was the stunt double for Oliver Platt

Finishing out the MCU Phase 1 with a team up that works incredibly well by letting everyone do what they did so well in their solo movies whilst also gelling in the same cohesive story. Plenty of quippy jokes to keep things light whilst also having a strong emotional core (that gets watered down when you know Agents of SHIELD comes shortly after) There's a lot of action. This movie is mostly action as the plot is very straightforward. The real strength of this movie (apart from the very slick comic book visuals of the then impossible team up) is
