Great fall mornings and sunny, warm afternoons are in abundance this week! Those afternoons start getting toasty, but just a couple weeks ago we were begging for anything below 95°-100° so... It's a very persistent quiet pattern for several days before some possible jet stream changes next week.
7 Day Forecast for the Tulsa area for Monday October 5th.

Lows in the 50s through Wednesday. Highs in the lower 80s Tuesday, then climbing to the mid to upper 80s from Wednesday through the rest of the time period.

Inspired by Stephen, here is where OKC stands this year in terms of low temperatures at, or above, 60˚F. OKC set a record yesterday for consecutive days with a low temperature not dropping below 60˚F, and is now tied for second place in the total count of such days w/88 days left to go for first.
Two ranked bar charts titled "Oklahoma City: Years Ranked by Daily Lows ≥ 60°F (1890–2026), as of October 4, 2026." Top chart, longest streaks of consecutive days with a low of 60°F or warmer: 2026 leads with 133 days and is still going, just ahead of 1991 at 132. Then 1914 at 126, 1921 at 125, and 2006 and 2023 tied at 117. Bottom chart, most days in a year with a low of 60°F or warmer: 2007 leads with 167. 2026 ties 1963 at 155 so far, followed by 1938 at 154, 2023 at 153, and 1899, 1941 and 2012 tied at 150. A footnote says 2026 is still in progress.

It was a longggggg road to get back to cooler mornings. This was Tulsa's 3rd longest stretch of days where we didn't drop below 60°.

Tulsa Football: Some soggy grounds but pleasant temperatures this evening over at Chapman Stadium! Widely scattered showers and downpours will be popping back up across parts of northeastern Oklahoma tonight. We'll have to monitor how close any of those get to Tulsa during the game.

Rain mostly takes a break from Tulsa to the west this afternoon as steady rains move east. But another flare-up of scattered showers and storms is expected across portions of eastern Oklahoma and southeast Kansas this evening into tonight.

Our incoming storm system is strengthening across the desert Southwest, and as Hurricane Polo moves into northwest Mexico it'll inject additional tropical moisture into the system.

Brent Venables is 100% gonna blame the defense first for giving up that long TD before he blames the offense for anything… And I might need to be committed to a mental institution when he does lol.
