I don't think I have ever transplanted anything so tall before! There is a lot more to move, but I know I can complete the privacy barrier. #gardening 🌱🌿
Freshly transplanted Pampas grass rises over a frost fence against a lane. Other perennials such as pink Chrysanthemum, Iris and a Japanese willow are in the bed in the foreground.

#molluscmonday ! I just received some gorgeous Vietnamese Amphidromus. The larger specimen (A. heinrichhuberi) measures 60 mm. The pair of smaller ones (A. jomi) is named after a friend. #mollusk #invertebrate #snail #gastropod #collection #naturalhistory
Landsnails lay on a white surface. The larger snail is deep green with lighter markings. The pair of smaller ones are yellow with olive green bars and dark red lips.

Some fall garden goings-on. I decided to focus on my yard for once. There will be no lawn and many new beds! #gardening #flowers 🌱🌿
A view from above of a yard. Many rocks lay around. A garden bed running along a fence. Pink mums bloom in the foreground. A Japanese willow, maple and other plants grow behind.

One of the perennials I moved away from the house during major work. My grandfather planted these over 70 years ago, so I really didn't want to loose them! There weren't many left, so I am happy that they are doing very well! #flowers #gardening 🌱🌿
A patch of pink chrysanthemums blooms in the sun. Tomatoe plantscan be seen in the background.

Since I needed to remove many of my perennials (some over 70 years old) for major work on my building, I decided to dig everything up before rebuilding the yard. I will get rid of the lawn. At least I can eliminate many weeds - especially bindweed and goutweed. Lots to do! #rockgarden #Gardening 🌱

The basil is doing very well this year! The plants are nearly a meter tall. I will make pesto later this week. I figure I will get 9 litres. 🌱🌿 #gardening

After a very slow start, the vegetable garden is starting to churn out produce. We picked twice as many peppers (gave half to neighbours). It will be a great dinner tonight! 🌱🌿

I started working on this very long bed five years ago. It was semi-abandoned with overgrown native plants/shrubs and a sea of ferns growing into the lawn. After a process of slowly replacing shrubs and perennials, it is starting to look good. I appreciate patient clients! 🌱 #gardeneing

My mini-nursery at home. I have to plant Hakonechloa at a client's tomorrow. Gardening went from zero to full blast this year... 🌱🌿
Potted plants, mostly Hakonechloa, Hosta, Japanese anemone and Echinacea, are scattered in a paved area between two walls. Stacks of black plastic pots and trays are piled against one wall.

This #molluscmonday post is brought to you by the genus Cribrarula (a name I have a great deal of trouble pronouncing)! These cowries are such pretty shells. #mollusk #invertebrate #seashell #gastropod #collection #marinelife #naturalhistory
Clear plastic boxes with dividers hold white cotton. On them are small cowries, a couple to a few to each compartment. The shells have pale to dark brown dorsa with white spots (lacunae - voids).

My first gardening post of the year. It hasn't been the usual early spring here in Montreal. I will need to prune my Prunus after the flowers die. 🌱🌿
Small pink flowers cover a shrub (Chinese plum, Prunus cistena) which also bears burgundy coloured leaves. They contrast the green foilage behind (Lilac, apple tree).
