I saw BACKROOMS this weekend. Here’s my review. I liked it a lot, I just like jokes more. stephenheathweidman.com/film-review-...
A screen grab of my review of BACKROOMS with a picture of a distraught Renate Reinsve against the yellow walls in the movie. The text reads:

A psychologist wakes up tied to a chair in the warped simulacra of a mid-century dining room, surrounded by mute Escher-esque homunculi and the spiraling, knife-wielding furniture salesman she was trying to rescue. She asks his carnivorous, elongated doppelgänger, who is wearing a pirate costume, “why the long face?”

Guess you had to be there.

I think COYOTE VS. ACME might be flawless. I’m biased, because Wile E. and the Road Runner were my favorite Looney Tunes growing up. But this movie was WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? reborn, and I wouldn’t change a single thing about it. 10/10 for me.
