October, 1973. I'm in Sunday school. The teacher has put up Hallowe'en decorations and we're eating black and orange jellybeans. She tells us that Hallowe'en is not a real holiday. I question this, offering examples of feast days usurped by new religions. October 1974. I'm not in Sunday school.

Added to my watch list! I think that if you have more than 3 sequels to any movie, at least one has to have aliens. Like Meatballs II. Ye gods, the drop in quality from the original is nigh vertiginous.

This weekend my Dungeoneers are staying holed up in a cave for 2 weeks while a bunch of them recover from being raised from the dead. They also have a short stack of dead folk to be reincarnated. Wandering monsters will be an issue. Especially once word gets out. Mmm... tasty cave dwellers.

Hey! I got my copy of The Amityville Horror from them too! Spent a few nights sleeping on the floor of my bemused older brother's room after reading about that damn piggy in the window. Didn't help that we lived in a really old house with some super quirky shit going on in the basement.

Went with my girlfriend to see it on a very chilly opening night. Cinema was super delayed letting us all in, and when finally they agreed to let us stay warm in the lobby we learned that someone had gone into labor during the previous screening. I often wonder if they named the kid Vlad or Mina.
