Obsidian 1.14.3 (early access) is now available. - New Group menu in Bases lets you control columns in Kanban. Also works with tables, lists, cards. - Added macOS Quick Look, so you can instantly preview Markdown files even when Obsidian is not open. And lots more!

I think we can definitely improve it more, and force deferring certain plugins

Consider opening an issue with the plugin dev, they might not be aware of this conflict

Why disable it?

I believe this is fixed in Electron 43.5+ so this should be in the Obsidian 1.14 installer

"so it's just a cookie but with chocolate chips in it?" it sounds like a dig at first, but it's one of the highest compliments you can receive in the understandability of something you created

I haven't heard of it, but after perusing the documentation for a few minutes I am still confused about what it does!
100
kepano @stephango.com · 10/09/2026
Essentially yes. Knap's syntax is intentionally designed to feel familiar if you've used Nunjucks, Twig, Liquid, Jinja, etc. But Knap is specifically designed for generating Markdown with frontmatter, so it has many more built-in filters for that purpose and different defaults for whitespace.

Many thanks to @pngwn.at for kindly donating the NPM package name!

Knap is named after knapping, the process of shaping stones to form arrowheads, scrapers, and other tools. It also works beautifully with my related project, Defuddle: defuddle.md

Over a million people already use Knap directly or indirectly because it started as the templating language I made for Obsidian Web Clipper. Now any app can use it. obsidian.md/clipper

This is Knap. It's a new language I created that turns data into Markdown. Knap should feel familiar and comes with a wonderfully pleasant syntax to modify and format plain text.

You could already assign the action button to a shortcut from the Shortcuts app, which can do things in Obsidian. In Obsidian 1.14 there is a new Quick Capture shortcut that's even faster.

it looks like they had fun adapting this quote from the 2016 article "Sam Altman's Manifest Destiny": "I have guns, gold, potassium iodide, antibiotics, batteries, water, gas masks from the Israeli Defense Force, and a big patch of land in Big Sur I can fly to."

Save your data to local Markdown files you own forever, and can access completely offline. Obsidian now helps you migrate from all the major proprietary formats including Notion, Evernote, OneNote, Google Keep, Apple Notes, and more.

afaik the range sliders are all keyboard accessible and show a number, but it's true you can't enter a number only decrement/increment it
