What a career. 57 years is a along time to do anything, never mind being the backbone of a band like Judas Priest. At least Ian Hill can spend more time up the Albion now. Forged in the Black Country. \m/ blabbermouth.net/news/judas-p...

Properly annoyed. Clashes with the men v Dingles. Albion like everyone else would have known when the fixtures were published. If they tried to delay KO and been knocked back then fair enough. But the heads-down, pretend it isn't happening approach suggests they haven't thought or bothered at all.

Riding two or even three abreast is a better and more effective use of the road space than single file riding. If you can't safely over take two cyclists side by side, you don't [sic] be able to safely overtake them when in single file. Hopefully the graphic explains why.

Odd one just. I'm walking along a narrow path on a blindish corner. A young Asian woman appeared so I shuffled to my left. As we passed she goes, "Oooh! I just caught myself in the bush." I apologise, as you do, then she says something I don't quite catch so I asked in my friendly croak if she's OK.

Conspiracy hunters will be frantically reading between the lines here. Indeed one ex-player's partner implied the club interfered in Martyn's selections and tactics, and that it's no coincidence that players left over the summer. That's just sour grapes imo. Something's obv happened though. #WBA
Coach Martyn Irvine on Facebook.

Sometimes in life, you have to embrace opportunity. You either succeed, or you learn - and both move you forward.

Being entrusted with the role of Head Coach at West Bromwich Albion Women was a responsibility I was incredibly proud to accept.

It's an opportunity I've worked towards throughout my coaching journey, and one that allowed me to put my beliefs, philosophy, and leadership into practice.

Although my time in the role was short, I'm proud of the impact we were able to make together.

Alongside a fantastic group of staff and players, we introduced new working practices designed to raise standards, strengthen our preparation to perform, and create a culture of continuous improvement. This included implementing training analysis and review processes, alongside a clear playing identity that the players embraced from day one.

Across our three pre-season fixtures, the early signs of that work were encouraging:

Averaging 60% possession, 25+ final-third entries per game, 35+ midfield and final-third regains per game, 10+ attempts on goal per game

While statistics never tell the full story, they reflected the commitment of the players to a new way of working and their willingness to learn, adapt, and grow.

With the unique nature of the Head Coach position, I knew it was always going to be a temporary opportunity. Having experienced leading a senior team, it's only strengthened my ambition to continue pursuing a 1st team role in the future.

I'd like to thank every player and member of staff for their professionalism, openness, and hard work throughout my time at the club.

Finally, I want to wish Siobhan every happiness as she prepares to welcome her baby, and Charlie, the staff, and everyone connected with West Bromwich Albion Women every success for the season ahead.

The correct North/South/Midlands map. One hundred per cent correct and no correspondence will be entered into.
A map of England abitrarily, but correctly, segemented into Norf, Sarf, East, West and Midlands.

The Norf boundary runs from the Welsh border passing south of Nantwich and Crewe before turning east north east, splitting Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire in two until reaching the North Sea somewhere south of Grimsby.

East is everything east of the A1 but south of the Norf boundary, skirting the M25 until reaching the Thames Estuary.

The Midlands is every thing west of the A1 and south of the Norf boundary up to the Welsh border. The southern extent follows the A449 and M50, before heading east until the A1.

The Sarf boundary follows the M4 from the Welsh border before turning south at Swindon, skirting the western edge of the New Forest and meeting the Channel east of Christchurch.

West is the rest.

I think what kept me going was that if I turned round I had to do those 30 miles again for no reward. That's 60 miles. I'm only 15 miles from the chippy at Moffat. And that's nearly half way. So if I'm doing 60 I might as well do the planned hundred and get the train back to Carlisle.

This time 11 years ago I was just setting off from Bitts Park in Carlisle on an overnight bike ride in miserable weather to Cramond in Edinburgh. I'd like to say I loved it but after 30 miles I was ready to turn round at Lockerbie and give up. The weather cleared up by Moffat so I'm glad I didn't.

Look, the band I was in wasn't great but I, with no artistic ability whatsoever, was able to make a very nice gig poster, and faithfully recreate a low-quality logo – for nothing – with open source software, public domain assets, and a few hours' endeavour. You don't need AI.
