#showyourstripes This is how much warmer it is where I live due the #climatecatastrophe www.ndr.de/nachrichten/...
The graphic shows a succession of from left to right blue, white, light yellow to orange and red stripes. The warming due to the climate catastrophe can be shown in so-called heat stripes. This chart - developed by climate scientist Ed Hawkins - shows how much the average annual temperature in a particular region deviates from the long-term average. Blue stripes indicate years that were cooler than this value, red stripes indicate warmer years and white stripes are years that were warm on average. As annual data is shown here, values since 1880 can also be used and compared with the pre-industrial average. It is clearly visible that there have been almost exclusively red stripes in the past twenty years.

Antwerp Harbour, one of the biggest harbours in Europe. Refineries as far as the eye can see. A moloch of globalization. The fucked up aesthetics of such places at night.
A moored vessel with yellow cargo and turquoise cranes at night time under a sky lit by artificial, eerie light. Not a soul in sight. Antwerp Harbour.A crane in front of a vessel visible between 2 warehouses at night time. Artificial, eerie light brightening the sky. Puddles of rain on the groundA cobble stone street, with puddles of water, street lights and warehouses along both sides. No one around at this dock in Antwerp Harbour at night. A cloudy sky, lit by artificial light. Eerie atmosphere.

Go vote!

Yeah! I found a beauty of a hermit on my vacation! #InverteFest
A hermitcrab on the forest floor, approx. 6cm from left to right. Could use a bigger shell to live in.

Norway sparks global outrage by approving DeepSeaMining in the Arctic. The decision endangers one of the last havens of marine life. The deep sea is also considered to be the worlds largest carbon reservoir. WWF Norway‘s comment to the Parliament’s decision to move forward with deep seabed mining:
Quote from Kaja Lønne Fjærtogt, WWF NO Deep Seabed Mining Initiative Global Policy Lead: „The parliament's decision to move forward with seabed mining against all expert advice, with an impact assessment that has been widely criticised, is a catastrophe for the ocean, and leaves a big stain on Norway's reputation as a responsible ocean nation“
