The title is the warning. This Strange Horizons review places Wendy Waring’s novel squarely in our moment of wealth inequality -- when we must decide who our society serves, what we owe one another, and what kind of future we will build. Check out the full review here: strangehorizons.com/...
Purple promotional graphic featuring the Strange Horizons logo, the cover of Wendy Waring’s The Hunger of Those Who Built It, and the Stelliform Press logo. Text reads: “Like all the best dystopian novels, The Hunger of Those Who Built It forces readers to confront the current drift of history into disaster. Nothing about this novel is far-fetched, the science already exists, and the will to exploit our world for personal advantage is already in power. The Hunger of Those Who Built It reminds me that I know the daughter of a multi-millionaire who is building a private, secure paradise with other trust-fund babies on an island off Central America. You’ve heard such stories, too. Whatever they claim about fairness and democracy, there is a tiny element of humanity with an extraordinary sense of entitlement, and those people don’t care who gets hurt in pursuit of their comfort.” - Jan Priddy for Strange Horizons. Promotional graphic for Wendy Waring’s The Hunger of Those Who Built It, featuring the book cover and a photo of Waring against a lush Parisian interior. Christine Higdon writes: “Can change happen by working from within? Do we just gently bend the rules of the old order, or must those who want to see a better world challenge everything about the status quo, sometimes by any means necessary? Two sisters, Diane and Helen, estranged for years, are both bent on saving the planet. Diane, architect of a green community in Paris, is convinced that her project will be a model for urban sustainability and food security throughout the world. Helen thinks that Diane is just helping her corporate bosses rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. Set in the near future, Waring brings us a suspenseful, intelligent, and hopeful tale about climate action and who reaps its benefits. This is a book for our times.”

Five-Star reviews for Caleb Sierra's THE WETWORKS MIRACLE.
“This was… strange, disorienting, horrifying. Incredibly vivid imagery that forced me to make faces at my ereader at times (which is very good!).”
“This book has wildly inventive world building and unique characters ...it is so unique in a sea of repetition.”
“The twist ending, wow!”
“This book takes the reclamation of nature in the wake of catastrophe and gives it heart and soul, quite literally, in this multi-pov mind-bending tale set in a fantastically complex, yet clear world.”
“This book was a very fast read, but it was several days before I could get my wits together enough to write the review.”
“The Wetworks Miracle is a gorgeous blend of eco and body horror, sentient plant matter, and heresy of a religion already bastardized through some convoluted game of interstellar telephone. We've hit on so many of my favorite tropes, I feel like I've been given a gift.”

Thank you to the TriCon organizers & volunteers for making TriCon so fabulous! It was great to meet online folks in person and connect with new authors & artists. And thanks to Tiffany Morris for taking me on Rita's Green Fuse Burning pond walk, which was truly stunning (and in wonderful company).
TriCon thank you image. Under the title "Stelliform [hearts] Tricon" a series of notes and photographs is arranged. The note reads: Thank you to all the conference organizers and volunteers for a fantastic event! The photographs are of the Stelliform table in the fabulist fair vending hall, Publisher Selena Middleton and author Tiffany Morris posing with a copy of Green Fuse Burning, and two Nova Scotia landscapes.

Today I'm sharing something from the Publisher's Inbox! Often readers ask me to recommend a Stelliform book for them. It's so hard because I love all the book so much. It's easier when readers give info about what they're interested in. Below are my recs for gardeners and lovers of cute little guys!

Huge thanks to Annalee Newitz for their support of T. K. Rex's brand new solarpunk collection, which is out in a month! “The Wildcraft Drones is a history of the next four millennia that will make you cry — in mourning, and for joy.” Pre-orders are still available and very helpful to a small press.
On a green watercolour background with a computer chip overlay, the text reads: “Gorgeous, hopeful, and strange, The Wildcraft Drones is a history of the next four millennia that will make you cry — in mourning, and for joy. This is the future that cyborg oak trees and pirate drones want. I do too.” — Annalee Newitz, bestselling author of Automatic Noodle and The Terraformers. Big thanks to Annalee Newitz for their support! The Wildraft Drones will be released May 21 2026

We are excited to share this beautiful blurb from Shingai Njeri Kagunda, Ignyte winning author of & This Is How To Stay Alive. Thank you Shingai! The Wildcraft Drones have now infiltrated the printer and are befriending it and convincing it to join the rewilding revolution. We wish them success <3
"The Wildcraft Drones weaves the many realities of a world where the soil, technology, wild creatures, and wild people collaborate on communicating through and past the bounds of language. When evolution is the only constant, these stories insist on centering the protection of those on the margins of power concentration. A reminder that if we do not see ourselves as part of the collective, we lose the tools to save ourselves." — Shingai Njeri Kagunda, Ignyte award-winning author of & This Is How To Stay Alive

Renan Bernardo gifted these lovely words about T. K. Rex's THE WILDCRAFT DRONES. "Wealthy people seem to be reading dystopias as rulebooks ... Instead, I'd say for people to read The Wildcraft Drones as a rulebook of how to live in community and find a healthy path to our future." Thanks, Renan!
"The Wildcraft Drones is a brilliant glimpse into a future we desire. T. K. Rex's prose is magnificent and her characters feel real all the time. The stories in this collection are varied and encompass a wide spectrum of climate fiction and solarpunk, but what they hold in common is a lingering feeling of hope and resistance. You can read this collection just for fun, but you will be getting much more than fun: a sense of climate justice and of shared humanity. Some wealthy people seem to be reading dystopias as rulebooks of how to run the world. Instead, I'd say for people to read The Wildcraft Drones as a rulebook of how to live in community and find a healthy path to our future." Renan Bernard, Nebula finalist author of Disgraced Return of the Kap's Needle

We're grateful today to Andrew Dana Hudson for these generous words about T. K. Rex's THE WILDCRAFT DRONES. “Thoughtful and funny, tender and bracing ... An essential text for any solarpunk’s bookshelf!” What are you grateful for this first Monday of spring?
“Thoughtful and funny, tender and bracing, these stories (and comics!) weave together into a potent vision of the crises we face and the strange and beautiful futures we might build on the other side. An essential text for any solarpunk’s bookshelf!” Andrew Dana Hudson, author of Our Shared Storm: A Novel of Five Climate Futures and Absence

Shoutout to Cynthia Gómez for these wonderful words about THE WILDCRAFT DRONES. "These stories challenge us by showing us the logical conclusion of late-stage capitalism – spiraling natural disasters, a mushrooming police state – but they also show the endless promise of resistance and hope."

"T.K. Rex’s gentle prose is dense with sly humor, sharp metaphor, and an abiding love for the natural world. These stories challenge us by showing us the logical conclusion of late-stage capitalism – spiraling natural disasters, a mushrooming police state – but they also show the endless promise of resistance and hope, of love and lust, of rewilding and regrowth. These characters – both human and adorable drone – will stay with you long after you’ve finished reading (and re-reading) this visionary book."
