I already greatly dislike those publicity blurbs for books. Too gushy and commercial for my taste. Pretty sure the AI versions will be even more annoying.

Was news to me. Last I recall, murdering people via helicopter ride was an Argentinian game. Was not expecting to see that particular strategy revisited, particularly not in the US.

My take is that if Labor had seized the moment and enacted real change (tax fossil fuel exports, get big money out of politics for starters) they might have earned some respect.

And paradoxically, banning a book makes a book all the more appealing.

Amendment 83's undefined "traditional methods" language could be used in court to challenge existing bans and reopen the door to cruel and harmful practices, which is precisely the goal of it's proponents. (Thanks for the heads up, Bobbie).

Bears could be killed during springtime when they’re weak from hibernation. These are methods that Coloradans have already banned themselves. Lead bullets are another “traditional method” that if allowed would secondarily kill animals (like birds of prey) that feed on carrion...

Hunting, fishing, and "traditional methods" would be declared the "preferred means" of managing wildlife. The deliberately vague phrase: "traditional methods" protects controversial and cruel practices such as bait lures, pack hounds, and steel-jawed leghold and body-gripping traps and snares...

The goal of these out-of-state special interests is to undermine the authority of Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials to conduct science-based management of Colorado's wildlife resources and enshrine a "right to hunt" into the Colorado Constitution...

Coloradans: Vote NO on Amendment 83. Amendment 83 is the product of out-of-state special interests, led by an international trophy-hunting groups and the far-right Turning Point USA. These groups have poured more than $2 million into the campaign to pass Amendment 83... #colorado #politics #vote

In an enormous noisy city, in which a substantial portion of locals do not enunciate, in a packed caffè where orders are hollered out over the crowd, perhaps we can do without loud house music. Especially at 9AM. Just a thought.

The article wasn't paywalled for me. I found it quite interesting. It and this thread remind me of this novel which, believe it or not, is a combination of US apple lore and horror.

One great filter is that being so obscure, I know nobody "recently became intrigued" by my novels. I have been impressed by AI's creative usage of my book blurbs, but am sad to learn I should stop using "warm regards."
