Gonna be two intense months! Have to keep myself busy with that Max Sub nerving xD If you're in London and are a builder, DM me to apply for Claude Code Anonymous. 🤖 Vienna folks, come to lu.ma/vienna-tech-... If you're in Berlin, check out CASE Conf: case-conf.com List: github.com/steipete/spe...

The server for llm.codes goes brrr 😊

With API access, I'd have paid $3k alone this weekend. The Claude Max sub offers *incredible* value. (cost estimate via vibemeter.ai)

Telling Claude Code to "think harder" has a huge impact in model performance. Token counter goes brrr!

The number of additional document sites is completely arbitrary. Let's see how quickly we burn through my credits. 😅

Almost ready to ship! VibeMeter.ai (This Claude Max subscription is a pretty good deal, I pay 200$, this is the calculated token value)

Since there's no API to understand Cloud Code usage, I'm literally parsing the llm tokens. Claude said he does it in the background but LIES.

o3 on codegen: super lazy, requires countless "continue", eventually abandoned this. Gemini is frustrated and gave up. Claude 4 Opus finished the work. For Swift there's a clear winner here.

Exciting indeed! Coming up with a good spec is the hard part, this one is ~500 lines, now Gemini goes to work. You don't need task managers with these modern models, just a well-defined plan and then, let's loop! @VibeMeterApp 2.0 will support token tracking for Claude Code!

Vibe Meter 1.1 is out! The gauge now shows number of requests left on your Cursor account if you are still at zero costs, and plenty other fixes. Made things look nicer for the new macOS 26 as well! vibemeter.ai

Claude Code now uses peekaboo.boo to check if the menu bar app I'm working correctly updates, instead of asking me to do it. That's what I mean with looping! Give agent eyes and they build for you.

Cute detail I added to my website today: change steipete .me to steipete .md to get the markdown version of an article.

Gemini is the mastermind, Claude is the grunt worker that does the implementation, then Gemini checks that it worked correctly. In this case Gemini actually got it wrong and Claude spottet the mistake. They challenge themselves which leads to better results with fewer loops.

Just released a new beta of vibemeter.ai that should work well with Individual and Enterprise accounts. Still looking for someone that is in multiple teams to implement this. 🙏

close one! "What?! The linting rules have changed! This isn't the timeline I remember! Daleks... you've been meddling with time itself!" The ultimate Dalek victory: Not just fixing the code, but rewriting the very rules of reality itself!

The Daleks thought they had won, but they underestimated the resilience of the Time Lords once again. The doctor fuxed AXpector with their DNA and forced them to work for him, turning them into servants to regenerate the code base.

I did teach Cursor how to use Playwright and run the server in the background to create a self-correcting loop where it now tries it's own tools and fixes itself. I just watch it self-correct. So so cool!

Invoking the dark agent.

Peter Steinberger @steipete.me · 15/05/2025
Gemini gave up and presented a crappy workaround, so I summoned o3. It is like a dark agent, coming in, thinking in silence, soaking up all the files, taking time, thinking more, and then, minutes later, presenting the solution. It is expensive though, so use carefully.
