revisions of already accepted papers are not counted in this monthly limit there is a separate cap on revisions, after a reasonable number of revisions, further revisions are not announced and a secularly increasing interval is imposed on successive additional revisions @arxiv.bsky.social

yes - large collaborations, eg CERN experiments, can register Proxy submitters responsible for coordinated release of papers this has been in place for a long time there have been submission rate restriction at arxiv for about as long

Putting my community service hat on, I thought I would relay an announcement on the an announcement on the arXiv blog that it is introducing a limit on the rate that any individual can submit papers to arXiv. To start with, the limit will be two per month. This limit applies to the submitter, not to all the authors, so I think large collaborations will find a way around it by having different co-authors do the submissions.

I’ve known about this for a couple of weeks, but now I can share: as of today, arXiv is rate-limiting submissions to two per month. And as a mod, I have to admit this is a necessary move (at least temporarily). blog.arxiv.org/2026/10/01/u...
