A paper by a team of fantastic researchers from Columbia Chem, Chem E, and EEE, as well as Shroedinger, dropped yesterday. I'm proud to be a supporting author. The author list is long; you know how to read these things. Fantastic leadership by Rich, Lauren, and John. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

I find that Claude’s writing style, in code at least, has gotten very clickbaity. Increasingly verbose and jargony. I/ we wrote skills and code to fix the problems, but I find the style annoying even in problem-solving mode. anyone else?

It happened to four out of my six caliper sets. I replaced them with these www.amazon.com/dp/B095YF8NMQ hybrid hydraulics (they still use a cable, so they take ~10 minutes to swap and install) and the braking is far more consistent and they won't be prone to the sudden failure mode.

PSA: cheap ebikes are great, but they often come with Tektra Aries (or the like) mechanical disc brakes. These have an operational fault that will eventually put you in a situation where you suddenly cannot stop. On an 80lb bike in NYC this is a nightmare. Blix and Radpower need to drop these ASAP.
Tektro Aries DO NOT BUY

So I moaned this to him, and he responded that I'm a walking spec sheet. This is not the first time I've heard this. Eventually, if enough people tell me it's too much detail for them, it is too much for them. I'm trying here, but it's ineffective when it goes too atomic. 3/n

battery conferences, and that was one of the worst things you could ever do with your life because it's all just a bunch of chemical engineers." I won't disagree with Calaway. My first time at a battery conference-in 2018 for Reuters -was overwhelming, dizzying, and confusing. Acronyms like NCA, LCE, NCM, and BEV were bandied about like a secret language known only to the initiated. I grew to dread going to the conference happy hours, fearing that as a journalist covering the industry, I would be expected to go toe-to-toe with Ph.D. scientists on the most esoteric of EV topics. Calaway felt the same. So he started reading academic papers. He subscribed to journals. He brushed up on his chemistry. Increasingly, he started noticing a pattern. Sprinkled throughout all the papers he was reading, like pepper in a salad, was a two-letter chemical symbol: Li.
