These are just too cool. 1970s Ford Escort in orange and this one has an inter cooler! Such a stand out car. Is it its dinky toy style or just simplicity? My top 5 Rally car. Its modern equivalent on the left just pales…. #Photography #CarSpotting #Orange #FordEscort #1970s #Ford #ClassicFord

It’s hot out there! Spare a thought for the ‘Evzonaki’ or Presidential Guard of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Athens. Said to have roots in that worn by the ‘Klephts’, bandits who lived in the mountains in order to escape Ottoman rule. #HotWeather #Heatwave #StayCool #TooHot #Guards #Photography

A survey by the Pew Research Center found that more people around the world view China more positively than the US for the first time in almost 20 years. Even the US’s closest neighbors, Canada and Mexico, saw China in a better light. #NoSurprise

In case you were wondering, the rich are getting richer. A lot richer. And soon, their kids will, too. Almost three quarters of those expected to inherit from Baby Boomers are already in the top 10% by household net worth. #Wealth #Inequality

In case you were wondering, the rich are getting richer. A lot richer. And soon, their kids will, too.
An unprecedented transfer of wealth in the coming decades is likely to disproportionately benefit America's most affluent families, boosting their fortunes by trillions of dollars, a new report from Visa says. Almost three quarters of those expected to inherit from Baby Boomers are already in the top 10% by household net worth.

"This is far from a broad redistribution of wealth," the report said. "These transfers will be highly uneven, reinforcing pockets of affluence and quietly shaping who benefits most - and how much of this windfall ultimately shows up in spending rather than savings."

Finally finished ‘The Boys’ enjoyable but 3 series would suffice. What was the purpose of the spinoff Gen V? Best ‘hombre’ was the bulldog ‘Terror’ whose super power was cuteness! Appears by the 5th series. An oversight. Compulsory watching for Maggots. #Homelander #TheBoys #Terror #Bulldogs #MAGA

Came across this delightful art in the gardens of Villa Baciocchi. Called Nature’s Balance it explores the concept of balance as a fragile and precious condition, suspended between nature and human presence. Complimenti! 👏 #Photography #Sculpture #Art #Zoology #Hippo #VillaBaciocchi #Naturaliter

Came across this delightful work in the gardens of Villa Baciocchi.
Called Nature’s Balance the work explores the balance between nature and the human presence within it.
Created by Naturaliter it depicts a figure elegantly balancing atop a hippopotamus. I will let them explain the purpose behind the work;

“A life-size work, capable of suggesting harmony, fragility and strength, it invites the viewer to reflect on the relationship between man and his environment.
Created for Bocelli’s concert in Lajatico in 2013 and subsequently transferred to the municipality of Capannoli.

The work
“Equilibri in Natura” (Balances in Nature) is a series of sculptures made from resistant materials, modelled with attention to form, weight and posture, capable of suggesting a sense of perfect balance between natural elements and stylised figures – human, animal or abstract. The installations are arranged in dialogue with the hilly landscape, the rows of vines, the olive trees and the surrounding Tuscan hills.

The meaning
The work explores the concept of balance as a fragile and precious condition, suspended between nature and human presence. The figures appear to be in perfect harmony with the landscape, suggesting that balance is never static, but constantly evolving. “Equilibri in Natura” thus becomes a metaphor for sustainability, care and respect for the local area.“

Sadly I only saw a couple of pieces as the rest are scattered around the surrounding area.
Complimenti! 👏

This Flip Flop #F1 format has me somewhat flummoxed. There seems little point in overtaking as you’ll be taken back on the next corner. Why not wait till the last lap and overtake?? By lap 14 in the sprint race the gaps between cars were already huge. The gaps in performance are enormous. #ChineseGP
