When I got to GameStop to pick up the copy of Belmont’s Curse I pre-ordered for @dragorgonmaia.bsky.social, they had just previously gotten a good condition copy of Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble for $10 cheaper than the rough condition ones online! I couldn’t say no, especially since I had trade-in credit.

I would have rather Square-Enix just release these three as individual games with proper physical releases. Even with ports of the Luminance Engine and UnReal 4 used for 0.2 and 3, asset streaming would have been fine on a Game Card. The company really is cheap as heck.

My first play through of Metroid Dread is complete! While I still think the EMMI sections could have been better executed, Dread is another game in the Metroid series that took some warming up to but feel I'd enjoy more on additional runs (the other being Fusion). Overall, it was a solid game.

Just got the PPUdigitizer from c0pperdragon installed in my front-loading NES console! The difference may not come through with platform compression (and is usually easier to see in video), but the clarity and image stability is much cleaner using Lumacode over composite.

Did my first battery holder mod on my copy of Super Metroid since it needed a new battery anyway. I.. was not fond of doing this mod, I wonder if my soldering iron isn’t maintaining heat as much as it was before. Clearing out the ground plane terminal was more difficult than I would have anticipated

I finished up a GameCube I bought and repaired! Installed new capacitors on the disc drive, a Picoboot mod, and a Pluto HDMI mod in place of the digital av out port. I also added a region switch along the side. Once I get some matte black paint to touch up a few spots it’ll go up for sale!

I ordered a copy of Super Metroid from a Japanese vendor and it arrived today! The label was in rough shape, but since the stored ROM is identical to the North American release I was perfectly fine paying for this copy for my collection versus the $100+ a North American copy runs nowadays.

The two big ones I’ve seen are this one, the Nin10Drawer, and the Slotmaster MKII. Unless you go with a DIY kit, installing these are fairly straightforward, unscrew and slide out the existing cartridge slot mechanism and attach the new one.

Won an eBay bid on a non-working NES. Figured at $35 and having a good feeling it was just the cartridge a lot, it was a good deal. Nin10Drawer installed and everything’s working perfectly, even short pin games! Just need an NESRGB to finish this one up and it’ll be all on par with my Famicom~

Recycled filler paper in a big shipping box with holes for crawling in and out, my cats LOVE it. It's Fort Poptart and it's Poppy's digging box, and sometimes Toasty climbs in too. Keeping cats indoors, especially those that aren't fixed/can't manage, is safer for them and nearby wildlife

For #RandomGameSaturday, I’m picking a new addition to my collection: Chô Wakusei Senki Metafight, better know outside Japan as Master Blaster. My girlfriend @dragorgonmaia.bsky.social played MB growing up, so I needed to add it to my collection to experience as she did.
