It’s the only way she can lead a semblance of a normal life…that is until it begins to grow. An immense seizure unleashes a destructive new ability: a whirlwind of black crystal, capable of decimating anything in its wake. And, a terrifying vision. Someone else knows about her abilities and they are hunting her down.

Terrified for her life, she confides in her papi Gray, the only other person with abilities she knows. Gray reveals a shocking truth: they aren’t the only ones. Hours after Riza’s vision, a girl goes missing in their upstate NY town, a girl with ascending abilities. Soon after, Gray is asked by the police to return from retirement to help on the case and use the powers he’s kept secret and sealed away for years.

With the looming threat, a warning comes from a new transfer student to her high school, Eli Kyle. Determined to find out what he knows, she confronts him and he reveals his history with the dangerous Seekers. Deciding to partner with Eli presents a risky new course, pushing the limits of her new powers while tearing her heart in two directions, toward Eli or her long-standing affection for her best friend.

As more children with ascending abilities vanish, close friends are being killed, and the life of someone Riza loves is in imminent danger, Riza must push aside the fear of losing control, unleash her full power, and stop the Seekers. Destruction could come from any corner – those trying to take her, those who might betray her, or even by her own hands.
