If God, one day, looked down upon the earth and saw my status,
he would surely understand my desperate journey,
and having the rudder of fate within His hands,
He would not leave me like this, making these mistakes.
It's painful, but unfortunately it's the truth.
I shouldn't even think of happiness that I cannot have.
Though I feel rebellion within my breast.
It's very sad not to have the right even to live.
I have never managed to see a dream realized.
However modest and dull, it has always been denied to me.
So, my God, frankly I must give up.
I must not insist on pushing against the whims of fate.
I want to escape the torment to which I am condemned.
I want to leave this life where I have been defeated.
I am a coward, I know perfectly well, the right thing to do is to carry the cross till the end.
But I cannot. It is too heavy for me.

Jamais consegui um sonho ver concretizado
Por mais modesto e banal sempre me foi negado
Assim, meu Deus, francamente devo desistir
Contra os caprichos da sorte eu não devo insistir
Eu quero fugir ao suplício a que estou condenado
Eu quero deixar esta vida onde eu fui derrotado
Sou um covarde, bem sei que o direito é levar a cruz até o fim
Mas não posso é pesada demais para mim
