It’s almost laughable to listen to some tech bros telling us that we shouldn’t worry about these latest AI security breaches and that we can trust them to self-regulate. We were told a similar line with Social Media. It’s the equivalent of putting the sharks in control of fish stocks.

He’s still alive. Wonder how much of the £5m he still has in his bank account. I’m sure there’ll be more if he’s struggling.

Should we instead be focussed on Tice and his tax affairs?

Mistake or as yet untested proposal? People seem to want to jump to a definite position these days before any results (good or bad) have been delivered. Unfortunately those who would happily see this country fail, will no doubt seize on any chance to discredit our latest PM.

And so it begins. The right wing dominated media is getting up to speed already. The key question is will Burnham allow himself to be cowed in the way Starmer did or does he have more nous?

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
Neither do the right wing media. Hopefully Farage will be consigned to the bin.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
One day in and already the right’s knives are out for Burnham. It’s as if some people in Britain want the country to fail. The unrelenting attacks worked with Starmer but he lacked political nous.

You’re happy to give Farage a pass??

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 20/07/2026
So you don’t have an answer then. Just want to moan.

Good.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 20/07/2026
And your alternative, Paul?

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 20/07/2026
Turn your focus, John, on the criminality of Farage and Reform and let the government get on with repairing the damage that’s been done to the country.

To fix the country that your former party helped to destroy.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 18/07/2026
Tricky? If he turns this country around in 2/3 years, he’s a magician. Given that so many on the extreme/right want the government to fail, whoever is in charge, even if he does address the main priorities, don’t expect the media detractors to acknowledge that success.

The anti-government movement is so predictable. They were successful with their unrelenting vitriol on Starmer that they’re already trying it on Burnham. He’s not yet the PM and they’re already criticising his choices for his leadership team (not announced yet) and his policies (not yet detailed).

Everyone focussed on Trump. It’s Infantino who allowed this to happen. He’s the one that brought the entire sport into disrepute.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
You’re right Sanj. The UK is not alone with this problem. But until we, as a country, accept that this is the issue and not immigration, then we will continue on the path that Brexit has dragged us down.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Until we can get a government that will call out wealth inequality and do something about it, we’ll continue to flounder as a country.
110
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
Tracey, it’s telling that you mention two initiatives which targeted the less well off. Whatever happened to getting the uber wealthy to pay more into society. We’re always told that won’t work but those doing that telling are the wealthy who’d rather we focus on the poor and disadvantaged.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
He didn’t succeed because he allowed himself to be cowed into tinkering rather than taking the brave/unpopular decisions which would start to address the real issues (cost of living/inequality). The right wing media are already trying to undermine Burnham. Farage doesn’t want stability in the UK.

With Trump banning the latest update to Anthropic AI, across the rest of the world, this is the first sign of the US weaponising its tech advantage. What a charlatan.
000
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
Fair point. For me he’s the Labour equivalent of Theresa May. A decent person but not what the country needs. He’s been hounded by the right wing mercilessly from day 1. What is needed is the brave decisions on cost of living/financial inequality which Labour have ducked thus far.
010
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
When you’re desperate, you’ll blame anyone and anything. Farage has made his career on that.
020
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
It’s largely very rich old men who tend to blame immigrants, like Farage. The unemployed just want a fair crack of the whip.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 21/06/2026
If all journalists took this tack, it would kill X. The world would be one less cess-pit.
020
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 21/06/2026
This is where Labour need to change. They need to tackle Reform head on. Get the cost of living to the top of the agenda and take immigration out of the equation.

This is all about getting their bases riled up for the local election. I see that there was a young white man jailed for life for murdering a Saudi student last week. Restore/Reform/Tories/Right Wing media absolutely silent on this.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
It’s also the fact that most media are giving him an easy ride over the more obvious aspects of corruption. He keeps changing his story over the donations but is never challenged on this.
010
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
Real parallels with the US. Biden always treated Trump as a spent force after the J6 riot. It’s as if Starmer thinks the public will suss out Farage and wouldn’t be so stupid enough the make him PM. Frog currently warming up.
120
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
Will the UK voters be gullible enough to follow the US and elect a corrupt grifter?
010
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 12/05/2026
The media have been pushing for Starmer to go since he became PM. It’s as if they want Farage to destroy our country even more than he’s done with Brexit.
030
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 07/05/2026
We can’t say that we didn’t see the warning signs. Will the UK be stupid enough to follow the US?

Reform are likely to get a decent result today. Read an article in NYT today which said that far right populist parties in Europe were benefitting from the war in the ME due to the economic pain it was producing. Ironic that this chaos has been caused by a far right populist in the US.
000
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 07/05/2026
Trump has already blinked. He just wants the pain to end.

All those billions. All those people killed. And all to return to the position that existed before a shot was fired.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 29/04/2026
It’s all Trump has left. He knows that he would get thrashed in the midterms if it’s a fair election, so he needs to “start the steal”.
010
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 29/04/2026
You can make an argument that Trump has won. He’s got significant cash flowing back into Russia, who he now views as more of an ally than NATO. By blocking the Hormuz, he’s mainly hurting Europe, who he has no time for. The key is how long the ME states put up with this and how this will impact OPEC

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 28/04/2026
Could this be a blueprint for the Trump administration post-power? Hope Russia don’t put a block on illegal immigration.

He even looks like a Latin American despot.
000
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 28/04/2026
You’ve got to ask yourselves “who benefitted” from this incident? There really is only one answer to that. Trump. The distraction from the chaos of his war and let’s not forget, Epstein has been very welcome. He even managed to make a plug for his beloved ballroom.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 28/04/2026
Charles is brilliant at making pointed remarks that look quite innocent. I’m still conflicted on his visit. I know that there will be life after these criminals are out of power but appearing alongside them as ‘friends’ isn’t a great look from the view of the rest of the world.
020
Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 27/04/2026
A world in turmoil and Americans are talking about a fucking ballroom. Impeach this asshole, open the Strait and allow the rest of the world to get back to some semblance of normality.

This worked for him at the GE so why not try it before at the midterms. Gets him plenty of front page exposure again and distracts from the hot mess he’s made in the Mid East. So predictable.

Linda needs to get out more. With thousands being killed in illegal wars around the world, all she is scared about is paying her tax bill.

Steven @steevo57.bsky.social · 13/04/2026
Iran are playing a blinder in the diplomatic stakes. An unintended consequence of Trump’s ignorant behaviour is that he is bringing otherwise ‘enemies’ together. The antipathy toward Israel/Netenyahu by Americans generally is an example.

Good to see Meloni describing Trump’s slur as unacceptable.
