Ehh I don’t really know there is a fix. As one of the other replies pointed out. The increased price of booster boxes means that the hits need to be worth more. Can booster boxes realistically be cheaper? In a world of trade wars and cost of living crises I think they might have to be?

I draw a direct correlation between the price increases needed on chase and fomo and the shrinking of a consumer base because to me it makes sense from a Boston matrix business growth perspective. Sell more products to new people or get more money from existing customers. Mtg is doing both ofc.

We know the print runs stayed stable for years rather than increasing. Should tell you everything you need to know. Calling and large event size has remained fairly constant as well. But I put more weight on hearing lots of established players inc myself talking about shrinking their interaction

I actually disagree with you. I think all of these luxury products and hobbies are coming to a crunch moment where they have to reflect on the price increases they have done as their communities continue to shrink in the face of growing pricing. I don’t think FAB is replacing its player base.

Yeah. That’s a sad one for sure. When it’s worth so much there is pressure to sell. Idk where I am now is kinda where I got to with WoW and MTG over the years. There’s only so many times you can say “this isn’t for you”, “this shiny isn’t for you”, before the whole game becomes not for me.

Hrmm I would also be okay with that tbh. I still haven’t bought shelters. I just think right you like a hero. For like 200-300 quid (or less) you should be able to buy the deck. For 400-600 you should be able to buy the shiny version of that deck.

No mate I’m not priced out of the deck at all. The base version of the card is like 3£. I can build the deck. It’s the nice version of the card I want. And I am the sort of person that should be able to buy it, since I will happily spend a few grand a year on this game. But I don’t feel like it.

I don’t think that’s an unfair thing to say. It would be one thing if I said that I didn’t have a budget. My fab budget is quite generous. My point is the sentiment that even with a generous budget I feel like the prices have pushed too high on some things.

Like you get my frustration though. Also I do challenge the point that card companies can’t control the secondary market when they very clearly control the print rates and those directly impact the cost of certain cards. Marvel jarl vs any other hero marvel for example.

Again irritated with FAB. It’s like how much should a chase card for a class cost. If the marvel swords were 50£ or even 100£ I’d have them. At 300£ I’m not even buying one for my blinged Olympia deck. If they can’t get me to buy one then they have failed as a marvel. Reality check needed. #fabtcg

Halfway through my Protoss for #starcrafttmg Can’t say I’m entirely satisfied so far. There are some really bizarre or small joins with no major connection points or indications. I just did the sentry that has one fragile point of connection between the glow and the body. More thoughts later

Yeah James said the capacity is like double that of the typical US calling in an interview. I help organise events. We’d rarely ever book a venue at 100% extra capacity compared to our last event. Maybe 20-30% over the last one if we are doing well.

I welcome the recent announcement of @fabtcg.com of the Singleton, 100 card deck CC format. I think this will drastically reduce the consistency and NPE experience power cards. I also welcome the ability to play my hero card as an ally on the table, so that I can tap my hero to attack for 4.
