Tommy (1975) Quite frankly I think the fact that anyone was even allowed to make any more rock n roll musicals after this was an act of hubris and arrogance.

watched Coraline for like the 20th time last night and got freaked the fuck out on this watch by suddenly noticing that, during the first other Spink & Forcible scene, Laika were such insane perfectionist sickos that they actually animated Odysseus' eyes following her

Fear Factory - Demanufacture (1995) Was somehow expecting something slower? I guess the album cover made me think of Front Line Assembly and I had something slick and mechanical and leering in mind. Getting my face blasted off for an hour is a more than acceptable substitute.

Resident Evil (2026) Probably not Cregger's best film, but probably the one most deserving of praise. Brings the ludic tropes and intangibilities of a videogame to DA Movies a lot more gracefully than other such experiments while still managing to be a straightforwardly fun zombie flick

The Dreadnoughts - Polka's Not Dead (2010) I kept waiting for this to let the wry smile and wink give way to full blown irritating comedy, and thank goodness it never came. Feels fascinatingly emblematic of a type of blissfully sincere caustic goofball dude that kinda got eaten alive in the 10s.

Brian Eno - Ambient 1: Music for Airports (1979) You can immediately hear the influence on everything in the field that came after. The title makes you brace for Muzak that was influential purely for being first, but there's a lot of progression. Really quite beautiful.

Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & the London Symphony Orchestra - Promises (2021) A thing of beauty. Coyote vs. Acme (2026) What a fun little movie. Sure it's lit kinda badly and ends up with a visual identity I'd compare to when you mod a cel shaded character into a photorealistic game, but it's funny and it's got a lot of heart. Glad we fought for this one.
