This man, James Connolly, was severely injured. That's why they had to tie him to a chair to kill him.

BS. I live in a great suburb.

I probably shouldn't speak ill of the newly dead, but my dad hated him so much, he stopped being a fan of the Bears and switched to basketball. That actually was a big deal if you know that my dad was season ticket holder when they played at Wrigley.

I love this movie and have seen the uncut version, but I honestly don't think it has that much to say about 2026.

After I heard news of a shooting at a suburban mall that had a massive police response, I said to my guy, "Probably Oak Brook Mall." Of course, I was right.

I've been doing social media all wrong. I thought you came to places like this to be social. What a laugh!

It was probably not a great idea to get a high-dose flu shot, a shingles shot, and a COVID shot all at once. I was quite ill last night and am not doing all that well today, though I did get my chicken and dumplings into the slow cooker. #vaccination

Excellent news. I want to go birding there this week.

This is awful. They used to outsource it to me and pay me to write their term papers.

This kind of violence has a place everywhere in the USA because every part of our government says it is.

I knew a doctor who was seeing an elderly couple. The couple were concerned about their cholesterol. He told them, "You're 80. You've won."

Looks great. I like to put parchment paper under my breads to keep them from getting too dark.

I saw Frank Zappa at the Uptown Theater in 1978 and the stage was hung with clotheslines sporting women's underwear he collected on the tour.

Vote, anyone you know normally doesn’t vote. It’s time to pressure them. This is our last chance to hold onto our democracy, our last chance to try to rebuild it and live free lives.

Yep. Going to see "Love Me or Leave Me" tonight. I've never been able to see it other than in a pan and scan version. Cagney's so good in it.

Thanks for identifying the sound I was hearing on Southport last night after Noir City!

My cat's doing this right now. I've decided to let her sleep undisturbed. The sheets can wait.

PLEASE don't repost his crap here. I like a timeline free of him, which is why I'm not on the social media he frequents.

It hasn't happened yet, but I'm planning to see two movies at Noir City Chicago this afternoon and evening. It's always great to see my fellow noir fans at a historic movie theater in a great state of preservation. #filmsky

They did that for my cat Meggie, but no note! I called everyone I could think of who might have sent it, until the vet said that Chewy does it sometimes. I like to shop local, but I always throw some business to Chewy for their compassion.

I don't really expect a lot of patriotism from media. It's a business for most of them. Nonprofits are better, but they still need to avoid offending donors.

Civil war is not "outside your comfort zone." It's bloody, destructive, terrifying, and VERY long-lasting, even when the fighting stops.

I'm sure yours are lovely, but in fact, the best English muffins are Bays (original, sour dough, and brioche). Regular price of $3.99 at my local supermarket.
