CareMark finally approved continuing a medication I have taken for a year. 7 weeks, 10 medical professionals, 2 denials, 8 cancellations, 1 external appeal. 2 letters, 13 months medical records, 3 pages narrative health history, hours of calls, faxes…. And… Pharmacy is out of stock. 😖🤬🤯😤 #cvs

I have an #ipsy subscription but I can’t figure out “shipping”. I got a shipping notification yesterday. Tracking number didn’t work “yet”. At 10:30 pm, a knock at my door. A guy with a pickup truck and no uniform hands me the box that had just shipped. Same thing in December. WTF is it?

On this day in 2021… I was showing my cat, Jack, a first photo of a kitten available for adoption. She and her sister moved in on 1/20. A week later they were all obsessed with each other. Jack was an excellent big brother. #catsofbluesky

Agatha taking a short break from yelling “Maaaa!!! The kibble!!!” She’s given meat 2x a day but PREFERS “crunchies”. Her sister Zella loves everything, so we use microchip feeders. I now ask her to “try a few bites please!” before I cave and serve the kibble. I am well trained. #catsofbluesky

Driving across the country, watching the sunset in all shades of pink mixing with the clouds… instantly I remember a flat plastic oval with pink and white sand. It was my Granni’s. It swirled in the most beautiful patterns. It was a #Wham-OMagicWindow Did you have one? eBay prices are nuts!

The bird flu mutated and killed over 30 tigers in Washington state. This could also be transmitted to housecats. Zella is on immunosuppressants for her allergies. We are now very alarmed. Do we need to disinfect before interacting with her? Do they make cat size bubbles? #catsofbluesky

The two very distinct personalities my cats show their cat sitter. They are sisters/littermates but I swear the gray one is the “big sister”. That box is in the kitchen specifically to serve as Zella’s perch while she screams “hurry up and feed me!!!” Agatha prefers upside down. #catsofbluesky

This is a big deal - even if just due to weight loss. FDA approval for this usage will cause insurance companies to lose the “vanity” claim as they deny access. I’ve taken Wegovy for almost a year. CVS Caremark denied 3 prior authorizations for next year despite success & comorbidities. Will add.

Tech calls it the “scream test”… “Turn it off. Only turn it back on when somebody screams. If nobody screams, they didn’t miss it….” Its a clumsy and rash process, works on archaic legacy tech. Used when nothing else is reasonable or “accidentally”. Does NOT work in government.

Spent the entire afternoon on phone with CVS Caremark to get information re: a prior authorization stuck in limbo. At my lowest, I said “ESCALATE”. Suddenly “oh, well now you have said that…..” They granted a “transitional fill”, and… 30 more days to get it done. #ESCALATE #CVS #caremark

The morning of Jan 20, 2021 brought a new era, when these two little kittens emerged from the carrier to take residence in our lives and hearts. Four years old this month, but I still remember them as tiny babies teaching each other about the world and the importance of not stealing toys.

My final day in Bath! The rain finally cleared last night, allowing me a lovely amble by the river after dinner. The Christmas market is in full swing, I have late checkout and an evening bus to get towards Heathrow. I would stay if I could. #travels #BathUK

Things that surprised me on this UK trip: I paid for EVERYTHING - from the bus to dinner to cab rides with my phone. I have not used any cash and only showed a credit card at hotels. They’re not talking about crazy Americans. They are shaking their heads but “can relate”. Christmas lights!!!

Wandering through old bookstores in Edinburgh this week, I encountered this tome from 1911. Inclusive of everything from functions of appliances to proper child rearing, mending, and jobs “suitable for women”, they put it all in one place. Much of the advice still useful… to all genders. #booksky
